Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, New York City Center's Principal Dance Company, returns to the theater's stage from November 28 - December 30, 2018 for a milestone season. During the Company's Ailey Ascending 60th Anniversary celebration, Artistic Director Robert Battle leads Ailey's 32 extraordinary dancers during this five-week holiday engagement that will elevate a legacy of excellence in artistry with premieres by some of today's most revered and prolific choreographers, including world premieres by Rennie Harris and Ronald K. The Fred Ebb Foundation in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company will present the fourteenth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Will Reynolds and Eric Price. Nebraska Wesleyan University's gender blind production of JULIUS CAESAR is running for one more weekend. It is yet another quality production by the NWU theatre department. I am constantly impressed with their vision, their implementation, and their overall excellence. These actors are being trained well in their art. The performance is powerful...a word too weak in its description.

The Los Angeles LGBT Center has announced a special one-night-only performance by the internationally acclaimed singing string quartet Well-Strung on Saturday, December 8, at 8pm. The four performers, who specialize in pairing universally recognized classical pieces while singing pop music hits, return to the Renberg Theatre with their hit holiday show, A Well Strung Christmas, directed by Richard Jay-Alexander. The show features the group's own unique pop-classical spin on some of the most beautiful and traditional holiday favorites from "Silent Night" and "Sleighride" all the way to Dolly Parton's "Hard Candy Christmas," and everything in between.
