THE GOOD NEWS, THE PROGNOSIS and PEEP SHOW Set for BPF's New Play Reading Marathon, 2/23

The Baltimore Playwrights Festival continues its Thirty-Second Season with a play-reading marathon on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at The Vagabond Players, 806 S. Broadway, Baltimore, MD 21231 (www.vagabondplayers.com). Starting at 11:30 a.m., plays to be read are The Good News, by Matthew Buckley Smith, directed by Kwame Bey, followed at 2:00 p.m. by The Prognosis, by Patrick J. McGeever, directed by Steve Goldklang, and at 3:00 by Peep Show, by Ivan Taub, directed by Rodney Bonds. After each reading there will be a discussion of the script with the playwright, director and actors. The event is free, and the general public is encouraged to attend.

Baltimore Playwrights Festival Announces Public Reading Marathon, 2/26 at The Strand

The Baltimore Playwrights Festival (www.baltplayfest.com) announces the sixth public reading 'Marathon' of their 30th Season, to take place on Saturday, February 26th at The Strand Theater, 1823 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, Maryland, 21201. Beginning at 11:00 a.m. five one-acts plays will be read, including Top of the Hour by Kitty Felde, The Rapier and the Rose, and The Unfinished Story, both by Steve Prevosto, The Chick Files by Sharon Goldner, and Protest by Adam Meyer. Each reading will be followed by a discussion of the script with the playwright, director and actors. The event is free, and the general public is encouraged to attend.

Theatre Plus' SWEET TOOTH Closes on 2/10

Theatre Plus' world premiere of Sweet Tooth by Mark Wild, will close on February 20, 2010. The new comedy was selected as one of only three Finalists in the 2008 Maxim Mazumdar New Play Competition and will be directed by Lorna C. Hill. The show will play at Alleyway Theatre in Buffalo's Historic Theatre District. Sweet Tooth is the third production of Theatre Plus' fourteenth season dedicated to presenting theatre that focuses on the talents and interests of women.

Rogue Artists Ensemble Presents 'GOGOL PROJECT', Opens 9/25

Welcome to Nevsky Prospect! With a script by playwright and KPCC journalist Kitty Felde, an original score and songs by indie musician Ego Plum, and Rogue Artists Ensemble's signature mix of live actors, puppetry, masks and digital projection, three of Nikolai Gogol's most famous short stories - Diary of a Madman, The Overcoat and The Nose - will come to 'Hyper-theatrical ' life this fall. Directed by Sean T. Cawelti, Gogol Project will open at the Bootleg Theater on September 25. Two low-priced previews take place September 19 and 20.
