Composers Concordance presents its 7th Annual Festival, entitled 'Art of Sound'. Inspired by contemporary art in NYC, the festival consists of five concerts, to be held at a wide array of venues.

With cutting-edge tap choreography and improvisation, On That Note proves that tap dance is stylish, powerful, and certainly alive.
Five choreographers, Artis Smith, Germaine Salsberg, Kevin Predmore, Traci Stanfield and Nicole Ohr, will collaborate with current and graduated Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music composers for a program of new contemporary, modern, and tap dances, performed by 25+ dancers, each dance set to an original composition by a different composer - Yuriy Lehki, Daniel Rote, Jacob Szilagi, and Sean Vigneau-Britt. The program will also feature repertory from Smith and Salsberg ('Full Moon Waxing' and 'Down the Rabbit Hole'). The two 2 performances, Saturday December 2nd at the Brooklyn Music School, is a presentation of Artis Smith and Germaine Salsberg, artistic directors, and The Department of Kinesiology and Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College.

According to Artistic Director/Producer Tony Waag, Tap Treasures Showcase "reinvestigates and revisits eight historic locations in Manhattan that contributed to the evolution of tap dance." The hour-long show was performed at The Duke on 42nd Street on Thursday, July 14, 2016.

Tap City 2016, The American Tap Dance Foundation's (ATDF) week-long tap dance festival, will return for it's 16th year to New York City July 9 to 16 with award presentations, master classes and performances by local and international artists in what has become the premiere meeting place for hundreds of American and International tap dancers to study, teach and perform.
The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture, located at 18 Bleecker Street, presents a new musical series filled with diverse and dynamic programming. The new series, entitled, 2 - The Art of the Duo, will feature two or more artists traversing the duo form in all its permutations (music, theater, dance, poetry, storytelling and more).

This July, The New Victory will present its second season of Victory Dance, the theater's initiative to provide FREE dance performances to kids in New York City day camps, school and youth programs over the summer. A three-week series from July 8 - 24, 2015, Victory Dance features a cross-section of highly-accomplished and internationally recognized New York companies who perform a range of contemporary dance styles and share in the theater's goal of inspiring young people to embrace the art form.
