National Institute of Circus Arts Presents EMPTY BODIES

This September, Melbourne audiences will witness the phenomenal skills and imagination of the circus world's future stars, when the National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA) in collaboration with one of Australia's most lauded playwrights, Stephen Sewell, presents Empty Bodies (rated PG). Empty Bodies is a circus-drama fusion considering the uniqueness and common elements of what it is that makes us human. The production is NICA's largest second year ensemble show to date and features a set made from thousands of items of pre-loved clothing.

BUGSY MALONE returns to the Lyric Hammersmith for a limited 12-week run following the critically acclaimed, Olivier-nominated 2015 production, which marked the reopening of the revamped building and the UK's first professional stage production of Bugsy Malone in over a decade.  Starring a diverse range of talented young performers aged nine and over, the lead roles are being performed by three different casts in rotation. Several members of 2015 production are returning, alongside talented youngsters making their professional debut.

The Lyric Hammersmith today announces full casting for Herons. Sophia Decaro and Max Gill return to the Lyric stage to play Adele and Billy having both starred in Bugsy Malone as Tallulah and Fat Sam in 2015. Ed Gaughan will play the role of Charlie Russell and Sophie Stone will play Michelle Russell. They will be joined by Billy Matthews, Ella McLoughlin and Moses Adejimi.

Producers Andrew Rothkin and Jay Michaels have come together to produce a series of scary plays befitting the season. This trick or treat bag is filled with prominent artists, guest directors, and premieres. Joseph Koch of Manhattan's memorabilia haven Forbidden Planet and Brooklyn's Warehouse of Wonder (more than 1,000,000 comic books and other memorabilia) is supplying vintage giveaways and prizes. Illustrator Songe Riddle created original poster artwork for the event... 'alas poor... Yorick?'
