A selection of the brightest stars of classical music and Broadway will participate in a filmed concert performance of two of Hillary Clinton's watershed speeches, both of which have been set to music by the composer and conductor Glen Roven.

Through Lyric's groundbreaking Chicago Voices initiative, the music of Chicago past and present will be in the spotlight in a star-studded weekend of vocal artistry! During the weekend of February 2 - 4, Lyric will present a series of Expert Panels and Master Classes in conjunction with the Chicago Voices Concert, a one-night only, multi-genre concert celebrating Chicago's diverse vocal music heritage with performances by iconic Chicago singers.

Fresh from a triumphant turn as Didon in Chicago Lyric's production of Berlioz's Les Troyens, Grammy Award-winning mezzo-soprano Susan Graham takes the concert stage this winter, performing selections from Canteloube's Chants d'Auvergne with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Yannick Nezet-Seguin.

Lyric Opera announced today that Tony Award-winning Broadway star Jessie Mueller and gospel and R&B sensation Michelle Williams will join the line-up of performers slated for the Chicago Voices Gala Concert, a special, one-night-only concert on Saturday, February 4, at 7:30pm at Lyric's Civic Opera House.

The Robert E. and Jean Ann Titus Art Song Recital Series will feature the magnetic tenor, Michael Fabiano, in an exclusive recital produced by The Dallas Opera. The performance will take place on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Dallas City Performance Hall (a 749-seat venue located at 2520 Flora Street-across the street from the Winspear Opera House-in the Arts District, Dallas, TX 75201).

OPERA NEWS Editor in Chief F. Paul Driscoll today announced the recipients of the 12th Annual OPERA NEWS Awards. This year's honorees—stage director Robert Carsen, soprano Christine Goerke, conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin, tenor Matthew Polenzani, and mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade—will be feted at a black tie gala celebration on April 9th, 2017 at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. Tony Award winner Kelli O'Hara will be the special musical guest. 

The Warner Theatre's 2016-17 Met Opera: Live in HD Season continues with Mozart's DON GIOVANNI in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre on Saturday, October 22 at 12:55 pm. A complimentary pre-opera lecture will be offered to all ticketholders in the Nancy Marine Studio Lobby for 45 minutes of pre-opera information and entertainment, 2 hours before broadcast. Met Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi leads the opening performances of Mozart's Don Giovanni, starring Simon Keenlyside in his first Met performances of the title role, which he has sung to acclaim with numerous leading opera houses. The principal cast, all of whom are making Met role debuts, also includes Hibla Gerzmava as Donna Anna, Malin Bystromas Donna Elvira, Serena Malfi as Zerlina, Paul Appleby as Don Ottavio, Adam Plachetka as Leporello, Matthew Rose as Masetto, andKwangchul Youn as the Commendatore. The October 22 matinee, with this cast, will be transmitted worldwide as part of the 11th season of the Met's Live in HD series, which now reaches more than 2,000 movie theaters in 70 countries around the world.
