BBC AMERICA's General Manager, Perry Simon, made the following announcements during the channel's presentation for the Television Critics Association in Beverly Hills.

If you go down to the park today, you're in for a big surprise - this summer, the Open Air Theatre will be Pemberley, and David Oakes is its master, everyone's favourite Jane Austen hero, Mr Darcy.

In October this year, two of literature's best-loved characters, the charmingly incompetent Bertie Wooster and his unflappable valet Jeeves will be brought to life in a new comedy by brothers Robert and David Goodale. Sean Foley will direct Matthew Macfadyen and Stephen Mangan as the legendary duo at the Duke of York's Theatre from 30 October 2013 with opening night on 12 November.

BBC AMERICA co-production RIPPER STREET has been ordered for eight more episodes, with the second season set to premiere in 2014.

RIPPER STREET is a riveting new crime series set to premiere on BBC America on January 19, 2013 at 9/8c. The eight-part series is set in and around Whitechapel in London's East End in 1889, during the aftermath of the infamous Jack the Ripper murders. Check out the sneak peek below!

Working Title Films has commenced production on Joe Wright's epic love story Anna Karenina, adapted from Leo Tolstoy's classic novel by Academy Award winner Tom Stoppard (Shakespeare in Love). The film will shoot in the U.K. and Russia. Focus Features will distribute the movie domestically, and Universal Pictures International (UPI) will distribute the movie internationally.
