Off-Broadway's eleven-time Obie Award-winning Soho Rep (46 Walker Street) will present a diverse array of contemporary theater artists, beginning with Young Jean Lee's LEAR (January 7 - January 31, 2010); followed by Gregory Moss' ORANGE, HAT & GRACE (March 11 - April 4, 2010) directed by Soho Rep Artistic Director Sarah Benson; and concluding with Cynthia Hopkins' THE TRUTH: A TRAGEDY (May 6 - May 30); and will implement a new humanities programming initiative - FEED - for all main stage productions during the company's 2009-10 season, it has been announced by Soho Rep Artistic Director Sarah Benson.
The Henry Hewes Design Awards Committee has nominated 60 theater artists for recognition of their outstanding work in 46 productions presented during the 2008-2009 New York theater season. The awards will be presented at a luncheon to be held late this fall.

SoHo Rep's Artistic Director Sarah Benson has announced that Sarah Kane's bleak and controversial drama 'Blasted,' which according to The New York Times drew outrage from audiences and critics when it had its premiere in 1995 at the Royal Court Theater Upstairs in London, will make its American debut as the first show in that theater's 2008-9 season. 'Blasted' stars Marin Ireland, Reed Birney and Louis Cancelmi. Previews began October 2nd prior to an official press opening of October 9th at Soho Rep, and runs through October 26. The Public Theater in association with St. Ann's Warehouse, will extend The Wooster Group's Hamlet for an additional two weeks due to the high demand for this wildly inventive take on Shakespeare's best-known tragedy. Directed by Elizabeth LeCompte, Hamlet marks the debut of the legendary Wooster Group at The Public Theater, building upon The Public's historic role as a home for independent and experimental artists. The Wooster Group's Hamlet was scheduled to close on November 18 but will now run an additional two weeks through Sunday, December 2. The production will have an official press opening on Wednesday, October 31.
