Peter Jackson Will Not Direct DOCTOR WHO Episode

Deadline.com wrote an article today dispelling the rampant rumors that Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit) will be directing an upcoming episode of DOCTOR WHO. Jackson has reportedly been given an 'open-ended invitation' to direct an episode, but there are no current plans for him to take the helm, despite him being an ardent fan of the series.

Early on in Learner and Lowe's Camelot, Guinevere asks, 'Where are the simple joys of maidenhood?' If her question was instead 'Where are the simple joys of musical comedy?' I'd tell her to look no further than the Woodlawn Theatre. Their current production of Spamalot is two hours of pure fun and brilliant comedic performances, simple though the material may be.

One of the key characters of In the Heights, now playing at the Woodlawn Theatre, often exclaims "Alabanza!" at moments of extreme joy. Alabanza, we are told, translates to "Praise to this." It's also the most fitting response I can give to this glorious production. There is much to praise in Woodlawn Theatre's remarkable production of this hit, Tony Award winning musical.

BBC announced this weekend that it had renewed Doctor Who for another outing, following the first part of the seventh season finale on Saturday night. The network had hinted at a pick-up earlier this year, but had yet to confirm the news.
