Taylor Mac will perform A 24-Decade History of Popular Music, the singular artist's 24-hour performance art concert, in its entirety in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

For the first time in Neiman Marcus' 110 year history, the retailer at its San Francisco Union Square location has decked out their windows with clothing not available in the store. To welcome the week-long engagement of gender-bending stage icon Taylor Mac's A 24 Decade History of Popular Music at the newly restored landmark Curran Theatre, opening this month, they have enlisted designer Machine Dazzle, creator of Taylor's costumes to create a spectacular visual feast for the eye. Mac's 24-hour, 246-song marathon performance, A 24-Decade History of Popular Music, was hailed by Wesley Morris in the New York Times as "one of the greatest experiences of my life" and was recently named the 2017 recipient of the Edward M. Kennedy Prize for Drama Inspired by American History.

Music Director Matt Ray will join Mac for the work-in-progress performances, which span three decades from Mac's wildly ambitious, multi-year effort to chart the history of popular music in America, from the nation's founding in 1776 to the present day. St. Ann's Warehouse, having just concluded an immensely successful inaugural season in its "stunning" (New York Magazine), "gorgeous" (The New Yorker) new theater on the Brooklyn Bridge Park waterfront, kicks off its 2016-17 season with a highly anticipated event five years in the making: the World Premiere of Taylor Mac's A 24-Decade History of Popular Music. The "staggering magnum opus" (The New York Times) performance art concert is Mac's subjective history of the United States, told through songs that were popular throughout the country, and in its disparate communities, from 1776 to the present day. From September 15 through October 8, Mac, a 24-piece orchestra and a vast group of special guests will perform this massive spectacle in two ways: as a series of concerts covering three decades each, and in a one-time-only, non-stop, 24-hour marathon performance.

Immersion Theatre today announced lead casting for their Autumn 2016 tour of R.C. Sherriff's Journey's End. Tom Grace (The Ilyiad, Labyrinth) will play Stanhope, and will be joined by Matt Ray Brown (1984, Ghosts) as Osborne and Rory Fairbairn (Madame X, Blackout) as Raleigh.
