HBO has announced that it will premiere the original film BEHIND THE CANDELABRA on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 9 pm. The film stars Michael Douglas as Liberace and Matt Damon as his lover Scott Thorson.

Starring George Plimpton as Himself is a new documentary that will open theatrically in New York on Wednesday, May 22nd - just in time for the long holiday weekend - at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center at the Film Society of Lincoln Center. The release is timed to help celebrate the 60th Anniversary of The Paris Review. The movie is directed by Tom Bean and Luke Poling and is produced by Terry McDonell and Adam Roffman. John Krasinski to Receive Trinity Rep's 2013 Pell Award

Trinity Repertory Company announced today that screen and television actor John Krasinski will be honored with the 2013 Pell Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Arts. Krasinski is a Massachusetts native, known for his work on NBC's hit comedy The Office, and the recent film Promised Land with Matt Damon. Krasinski will be honored alongside recently announced Honorees Kate Burton (Pell Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts), Tony Estrella (Rhode Island Pell Award for Excellence in the Arts), Joseph A. Chazan, M.D. (Pell Award for Outstanding Leadership in the Arts), and Martha Douglas-Osmundson (Charles Sullivan Award for Distinguished Service in the Arts.) The 17th annual Pell Awards will be held on Monday, June 10, 2013 at Trinity Rep with a reception to follow next door at the Providence Public Library.

2013 Bay Street Theatre Comedy Club Announced

Bay Street Theatre has announced the 2013 Comedy Club lineup. The fun begins on June 11 and will continue on most Monday nights at 8 pm through August. Tickets are $62 for members or $69 for non member excluding The All Star Comedy Showcase, which is $15 in advance and $25 on the day of the event.
