SAPIENCE, the new play co-produced between TuYou Theatre and MOXIE Theatre playing through February 20th looks at the insights that occur when your way of communicating and experiencing the world expands.
It's not every day that a stranger introduces themselves by barging into your room while quoting poetry, but it is how Anthony introduces himself to Caroline in MOXIE's I AND YOU. Despite this meet-cute moment, he comes bearing homework; a last-minute homework project that they've been assigned on a Walt Whitman poem. The play written by Lauren Gunderson follows their conversation and friendship as both deepen over the course of the assignment as they contemplate life, love, longing, and loneliness...you know, typical teenage discussions.
October brings the dark comedy HIR to Cygnet Theatre. This uncurbed, kitchen-sink drama about a family in transition was named The New York Time's Top Ten Best Theater of 2015. Written by playwright and performance artist Taylor Mac and directed by Rob Lutfy, the production runs October 3 - 28. Opening Night for media is October 6.
Trinity Theatre is proud to start its 2018 season (Season VI) with William Shakespeare's classic Tragedy: MACBETH. 'All hail Macbeth', the witches proclaim, before the brave Scottish soldier returns home to honor and glory. But, they have one more prophecy, that he 'shall be king hereafter', thus igniting the flame of intrigue and desire in Macbeth's heart. Encouraged by his wife, Macbeth is to become one of Shakespeare's most fascinating characters, as he begins a hero, and descends a dangerous and infamous path.
