Photo Coverage: BROADWAYWORLD.COM VISITS OZ The Concert - Part One

On Monday night, January 20, 2014 BroadwayWorld.com kicked off its 10th Anniversary Celebration with the first in a series of concerts to be presented in the upcoming year. It was an historic night for so many reasons and although yesterday was spent in BroadwayWorld 'after-glow and recovery' we rushed out the behind the scenes photos, taken by two photographers who were with us since the beginning - Linda Lenzi and Walter McBride. WICKED's Marybeth Abel and Christy Ney Hold Stage Management Intensive on 1/6

Broadway Basics is recruiting undergraduates for their Stage Management Workshop- a one day intensive on January 6, 2014 from 10am-3pm. Upon attending the workshop, students will learn first-hand about what it takes on put on a Broadway show from pre-production through strike, networking and resume writing, and more! The enrollment deadline is December 9.

Broadway Basics has recruited high school students for their Stage Management Workshop- a one day intensive set for today, October 14, 2013 from 10am-3pm at the Pearl Studios. Upon attending the workshop, students will be able to spend the day in NYC, the theater capital of the world, and learn first hand what it takes to put on a Bradway show all the way from pre-production through strike.

Broadway Basics is recruiting high school students for their Stage Management Workshop! This one day intensive will be held on October 14, 2013 from 10am-3pm at the Pearl Studios and will feature professional Broadway stage managers. Upon attending the workshop, you will be able to spend the day in NYC, the theater capital of the world, you will be able to learn first hand what it takes to put on a Bradway show all the way from pre-production through strike, and you will learn about networking and resume writing. In addition to all of this, you will also walk away with an energized understanding about the production side of theater and gain insight as to whether stage management is right for you.

TV Special: BroadwayWorld.com to Kick Off 2014 with a Bang! Announces 10th Anniversary Shows & Year-Long Concert Series at Joe's Pub

BroadwayWorld.com is very excited to announce that we will be returning to Joe's Pub at the Public Theater in 2014, kicking off a year-long celebration of the community and our 10th anniversary with regularly scheduled concerts, live streams and special events in a BIG way. The concert series will launch on January 20, 2014 with BROADWAYWORLD VISITS OZ, directed by Richard Jay-Alexander and with music direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell. WICKED Stage Managers Marybeth Abel and Christy Ney Host One-Day Intensive for High Schoolers Today

Following BroadwayWorld's Student Center Classroom two-part series 'Behind the Scenes at Wicked' with Marybeth Abel, the production stage manager wrote to BWW to tell us that it had drawn 'quite the following of enthusiastic kids'. In response, Abel and her colleague at Wicked Christy Ney will now be offering a Stage Management One Day Intensive today, August 4th, 2013.

BWW Exclusive: Les Miserables at The MUNY Summer 2013 Scrapbook!

It was theatre magic at its best: rain lightly came down on closing night as the entire cast of LES MISERABLES at The Muny belted out 'The Epilogue' one more time. The audience lept to their feet as the final notes hung in the air. All week long, The Muny experienced a complete standing ovation before the curtain call began, something that Muny goers said hasn't happened in at least 35 years. The cast of LES MISERABLES experienced the audience's appreciation all week long and their final performance was no exception.

BWW Exclusive: Hugh Panaro and Norm Lewis to Star in LES MISERABLES at the Muny July 15 - 21; Highly Anticipated Cast Announced!

The Muny announced principal casting for the fifth show of its fantastic 95th season, Les Miserables. Broadway veterans Hugh Panaro and Norm Lewis make their Muny debuts starring as Jean Valjean and Javert, respectively. Also starring is Michael McCormick as Thenardier. The production is directed by Richard Jay-Alexander, who served as the associate director and executive producer of the original Broadway, touring and Canadian companies of Les Miserables.
