Denver's SENSE & SENSIBILITY THE MUSICAL, Featuring Stephanie Rothenberg and Mary Michael Patterson, Begins 4/5

An award-winning Broadway creative team and a stellar cast of Broadway veterans and newcomers have assembled to bring one of Jane Austen's most beloved romances to life. The much-anticipated world premiere of SENSE & SENSIBILITY THE MUSICAL, book and lyrics by Jeffrey Haddow and music by Neal Hampton, receives its world premiere April 5 - May 26, 2013 (press opening April 11), presented by the Denver Center Theatre Company, in The Stage Theatre at the Denver Center for Performing Arts at 14th and Champa. Producing Artistic Director Kent Thompson selected SENSE & SENSIBILITY THE MUSICAL after it became a runaway hit at the 2012 Colorado New Play Summit. The production is staged by Director and Choreographer Marcia Milgrom Dodge, whose recent Broadway revival of Ragtime received six Tony Award nominations.

The Denver Center Theatre Company's (DCTC) world premiere production of SENSE & SENSIBILITY THE MUSICAL, with book and lyrics by Jeffrey Haddow and music by Neal Hampton, will be staged by Director and Choreographer Marcia Milgrom Dodge, whose recent Broadway revival of Ragtime received seven Tony Award nominations. Last night, April 24, Carnegie Hall presented its gala benefit performance of The Sound of Music in the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage. The cast was led by Laura Osnes (Maria Rainer), Tony Goldwyn (Captain von Trapp), Brooke Shields (Elsa Schraeder), Patrick Page (Max Detweiler), Stephanie Blythe (The Mother Abbess), Mary Michael Patterson (Liesl von Trapp), Nick Spangler (Rolf Gruber), Cotter Smith (Herr Zeller), and Reed Birney (Admiral von Schreiber). They were joined by and Joel Hatch (Franz, The Butler), Joy Hermalyn (Sister Berthe), Linda Mugleston (Sister Margaretta), Faith Sherman (Sister Sophia), and Veanne Cox (Frau Schmidt). As previously reported, Roundabout Theatre Company recently announced a new block of tickets now on-sale through April 29th, 2012 for their Tony-winning production of Anything Goes. It was originally scheduled to run through Sunday, July 31st, 2011. The production currently stars 2011 Tony Award winner Sutton Foster as 'Reno Sweeney' and Tony and Academy Award winner Joel Grey as 'Moonface Martin,' and is directed and choreographed by 2011 Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall.
