MCC THEATER has announced the line-up for their upcoming PlayLabs reading series, featuring new plays by members of the company's Playwrights' Coalition. Traditionally held in the Spring, MCC'sPlayLab will now shift to the autumn months, launching this year on four consecutive Mondays throughout September (beginning September 9th) at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street). All readings are at 7pm. MCC THEATER today announced that James Badge Dale (World War Z, HBO's The Pacific), James Ransone (HBO's 'The Wire') will replace Jon Bernthal and Christopher Fitzgerald in the New York Premiere of John Pollono's celebrated Small Engine Repair. Keegan Allen ('Pretty Little Liars') has also joined the cast. Small Engine Repair is the comic thriller that premiered to rave reviews and sold-out audiences at L.A.'s Rogue Machine Theatre, where it won the Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for Playwriting, among many other honors. The New York production of Small Engine Repair will be directed by longtime MCC collaborator Jo Bonney (MCC's The Break of Noon, Some Girl(s), Fat Pig) and begins at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on October 30, 2013. An official opening night is set for November 18, 2013.

The world premiere of David Grimm's TALES FROM RED VIENNA has been added to Manhattan Theatre Club's 2013-2014 theatrical season, it was announced today by Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director), Barry Grove (Executive Producer), and Mandy Greenfield (Artistic Producer). Kate Whoriskey (Ruined at MTC) will direct the production, set to begin previews on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 with an official opening night scheduled for Tuesday, March 18 at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street).
The Vineyard Theatre will present a one-night-only reading of Paula Vogel's Pulitzer Prize- winning play HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE tonight, Monday, July 1st at 8:00 PM. Reuniting for the first time since its celebrated premiere at The Vineyard in 1997 will be the original company: Mary-Louise Parker as 'L'il Bit,' David Morse as 'Uncle Peck,' Johanna Day, Kerry O'Malley and Justin Hagan.
