After the critical success of Accidental Death of an Anarchist, Northern Broadsides' resisdent director Conrad Nelson and playwright Deborah McAndrew once again team up to bring their unique brand of Northern inventiveness and humour to the stage with A Government Inspector, a Yorkshire take on Gogol's fantastical satire The Government Inspector. Created in partnership with Harrogate Theatres, the production premieres at Harrogate Theatre from 7 - 22 September before embarking on an English national tour until December 1st. The Museum of Modern Art recognizes the achievements of Roman Polanski with a complete retrospective of the filmmaker's works, September 7-30, 2011, in The Roy and Niuta Titus Theaters. Baz Bamigboye reports in the U.K. Daily Mail today that Martin Shaw and Jenny Seagrove will lead a new production of Clifford Odets' THE COUNTRY GIRL in the West End, opening in October of this year at the Apollo Theatre. Rufus Norris reportedly directs.
