Sebastian Maniscalco And John Mulaney To Headline National Comedy Center's Lucille Ball Comedy Festival

The National Comedy Center, the nation's first museum and visitor experience dedicated to the comedic arts, announced today that Sebastian Maniscalco and John Mulaney will headline the 2019 Lucille Ball Comedy Festival, August 7th -11th. Tickets for their performances will go on pre-sale for National Comedy Center members only -- starting Wednesday, February 20th at Noon ET at www.ComedyCenter.org.  

Joffrey Presents the World Premiere of ANNA KARENINA in First-Ever Collaboration With Australian Ballet

As the centerpiece of its 2018-19 season, The Joffrey Ballet proudly announces the world premiere of Yuri Possokhov's historic reimagining of Leo Tolstoy's classic novel, Anna Karenina, considered the greatest literature ever written. This majestic full-length work is presented in a first-time collaboration between The Joffrey Ballet and the renowned Australian Ballet to be performed in Chicago at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, 50 E. Showtime Appoints Geoff Stier as the Senior Vice President, Original Programming

Showtime Networks Inc. has announced that Geoff Stier has joined the company as Senior Vice President, Original Programming. Stier will help develop and shepherd original comedies, dramas and limited series for the network. He will be based in the SHOWTIME West Coast offices. The announcement was made today by Amy Israel, Executive Vice President, Scripted Programming, Showtime Networks Inc. to whom he will report. 

Matthias Pintscher Curates SESSION, LA Chamber Orchestra's Iinnovative Performance Experience

Prolific composer/conductor Matthias Pintscher curates Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra's (LACO) SESSION, an innovative performance experience, in collaboration with Four Larks, on Thursday February 28, 8 pm, at Mack Sennett Studios in Silverlake. Designed to explore classical music's cutting-edge sounds and challenge traditional concert-going expectations, the evening features two works by Pintscher, Study II for Treatise on the Veil, a string trio inspired by painter Cy Twombly's art works, and Uriel, for cello and piano, the third part of his 'Profiles of Light' cycle. Also on the program are three-time Grammy Award-winning soprano Michelle DeYoung and LACO artists performing Ravel's Three Poemes de Stephane Mallarme; Berg's Four pieces for clarinet and piano; Grisey's surreal Stele for two percussionists and Xenakis's Rebonds A, a tour-de-force for solo percussion. SESSION includes a 'hang' with the artists, and premium tickets include parking and one drink as well. Mack Sennett Studios, where artists like Martin Scorsese, David Lynch, Lady Gaga, John Legend, Donna Summer and Jay-Z have performed, is a historic facility that serves as a soundstage, event space and a hub for a variety of cultural producers.

BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY, THE FAVOURITE Among Winners of the ACE Eddie Awards

“Bohemian Rhapsody” (edited by John Ottman, ACE) and “The Favourite” (edited by Yorgos Mavropsaridis, ACE) won Best Edited Feature Film (Dramatic) and Best Edited Feature Film (Comedy) respectively at the 69th Annual ACE Eddie Awards tonight where trophies were handed out recognizing the best editing of 2018 in 11 categories of film, television and documentaries.  The black-tie ceremony was held in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel with over 1000 in attendance to celebrate.  President of American Cinema Editors, Stephen Rivkin, ACE, presided over the evening's festivities with comedian Tom Kenny serving as the evening's host.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley announces a special post-show political forum for its production of the Tony and Olivier Award-nominated drama Frost/Nixon. Following the 2pm performance of Frost/Nixon on Saturday, February 2 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, audiences are invited to discuss the history and current relevance of the Watergate scandal with Dr. Theodore Glasser of Stanford University and Dr. Terri Bimes of University of California Berkeley in a conversation moderated by Cameron Wells, the assistant director of Frost/Nixon. Glasser, a professor emeritus of Communication whose research specializes in media practices and press accountability, and Bimes, a lecturer and Assistant Director of Research for the Institute of Governmental Studies who teaches about the presidency, will bring their unique perspectives to this free political forum, open to audience members and community members.

Sebastian Maniscalco Set To Make Wynn Las Vegas Debut With Two-Night-Only Engagement

This May, comedian, actor and best-selling author Sebastian Maniscalco will make his Wynn Las Vegas debut with a two-night-only engagement at the Encore Theater. Maniscalco will bring his observational humor to the stage at Wynn Las Vegas in two back-to-back performances each night at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., May 25-26. Tickets for all performances will be available for purchase on Friday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. PDT.

Jeff Bridges to be Awarded with the Cinematographers Board of Governors Award

Oscar-winner Jeff Bridges, whose many distinguished performances have earned him seven Academy Award nominations, will be honored with the Board of Governors Award at the 33rd Annual ASC Awards for Outstanding Achievement on February 9 at Hollywood & Highland's Ray Dolby Ballroom.

BOARDWALK EMPIRE's Johnnie Mae Joins Staged Reading Of THE TALK

Award winning actress Johnnie Mae, who played the role of housekeeper Louann Pratt in season one of the Martin Scorsese produced Boardwalk Empire on HBO, has joined the cast of the staged reading of Janice Liddell's drama The Talk, an installment in the Frank Silvera Writers Workshop monthly reading series in partnership with The Billie Holiday Theatre.

Kathrine Narducci Cast in GODFATHER OF HARLEM, Juan Riedinger Joins CLAWS

Kathrine Narducci is set for a recurring role on Godfather of Harlem, according to Deadline. Narducci will star opposite Vincent D'Onofrio in Epix's straight-to-series crime drama from Narcos co-creator Chris Brancato and Paul Eckstein and ABC Signature Studios.
