Trinity Repertory Company previously announced that three local Rhode Island residents would be receiving Pell Awards this year in addition to Kate Burton, the recipient of the 2013 Pell Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts. The 17th annual Pell Awards will be held tonight, June 10, 2013 at Trinity Rep with a reception to follow next door at the Providence Public Library.

The debut dates for the HBO Films presentation CLEAR HISTORY and the new seasons of the HBO series BOARDWALK EMPIRE, HELLO LADIES and EASTBOUND & DOWN have been confirmed.

According to Deadline, Bobby Cannavale is in talks to star in an upcoming and untitled rock 'n' roll series for HBO, produced by Martin Scorsese and Terence Winter and created alongside Rolling Stones leading man Mick Jagger. The show is aiming to begin filming its pilot episode in 2014.

The David Lynch Foundation will launch its new performance division, DLF Live, at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival on June 15, 2013. DLF Live will harness the power of arts and creativity to bring meditation to at-risk communities. The launch will be marked by a screening of Meditation, Creativity, Peace, a documentary highlighting filmmaker David Lynch and his decades-long dedication to meditation and the arts. The National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts), a non-profit that recognizes and supports the nation's most talented young artists in the visual, literary, and performing arts, has announced that its 2014 application will be available online at http://www.youngarts.org/apply from May 31, 2013 through October 18, 2013. This year, students with an interest in architecture and design are also encouraged to apply for the inaugural YoungArts Design Arts program.

Hangar Theatre kicks off its 2013 season on June 13th with Neil Simon's irresistible comedy Last of the Red Hot Lovers, which runs through June 29. Featuring a stellar cast including three Broadway favorites, this seminal work will be directed by Hangar Associate Artistic Director Jesse Bush. Last of the Red Hot Lovers had its original Broadway run from 1969-1971 and received four Tony nominations, including for Best Play. The Hangar production features the talents of Jordan Gelber (Broadway's Avenue Q, All My Sons, Elf) as Barney Cashman, Jennifer Cody (Shrek, Urinetown) as Elaine Navazio, Leenya Rideout (Company, War Horse, Cabaret) as Jeannette Fisher, and Natalie Walker as Bobbi Michele.

Deadline reports that Andrew Garfield has signed on to star in Martin Scorsese's upcoming thriller SILENCE. The actor will take on the role of Father Rodrigues in the big screen adaptation of Shusaku Endo's novel.
