Rarely Pure Theatre to Stage AS YOU LIKE IT, 1/9-26

Established director Rosanna Saracino (art&lies productions, REDHANDED, TPM, Randolph Academy, York University) helms this side-splitting classic featuring breakout performances by an explosive cast of promising emerging artists. Driven by Rarely Pure founding members, Christina Bryson (Isoprox Theatre, Toronto Masque Theatre, Feature Film: Fragile Minds), Spencer Robson (Paranormal Witness, Humber River Shakespeare, 4th Line Theatre), and David DiFrancesco (Theatre 20 Emerging Artist Ensemble, Hart House, Theatre Aquarius) and joined by the fresh talents of Katie Ribout (Paranormal Witness, Alumnae Theatre, Quixotic Arts Collective), Gaby Grice (Theatre 20 Emerging Artist Ensemble, First Act Productions, Mnemonic Theatre) as well as Indie theatre veteran Benjamin Blais, (RedOne Theatre Collective, Theatre Brouhaha) this production promises to be a refreshing and exciting evening for the whole family.

Cutting Ball Theater to Continue 15th Season with Alfred Jarry's UBO ROI, 1/24-2/23

Cutting Ball Theater continues its 15th season with Alfred Jarry's UBU ROI in a new translation by Rob Melrose. Russian director Yury Urnov (Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company) helms this irreverent take on world leaders. Featuring David Sinaiko, Ponder Goddard, Marilet Martinez, Bill Boynton, Nathaniel Justiniano, and Andrew Quick, UBU ROI plays January 24 through February 23 (Press opening: January 30) at the Cutting Ball Theater in residence at EXIT on Taylor (277 Taylor Street) in San Francisco. Donmar Warehouse to Transfer THE NIGHT ALIVE and THE WEIR

The Donmar Warehouse is preparing to transfer both of its critically acclaimed Conor McPherson productions, The Night Alive and The Weir, within the next two months. The Night Alive will make its American premiere at The Atlantic Theater off-Broadway on the 30 November 2013, with The Weir opening at Wyndham's Theatre in the West End on the 16 January 2014.

The Lieutenant of Inishmore by Martin McDonagh will run at Laurel Mill Playhouse from November 8, 2013 through November 24, 2013, with Friday and Saturday evening performances at 8 p.m. with Sundaymatinees on November 17 and November 24 at 2pm.

Silver Spring Stage to Present THE PILLOWMAN, 11/1-23

Silver Spring Stage presents The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh, directed by Craig Mummey and produced by Pauline Griller-Mitchell and Amy Sullivan, an engrossing and provocative drama that centers on a writer in an unnamed totalitarian state who is being interrogated about the gruesome content of his short stories and their similarities to a series of child murders. With dark echoes of the Grimm tales, this is an unflinching examination of the very nature and purpose of art. The Pillowman will perform weekends November 1 to 23.

TheatreWorks New Milford Unveils New Reception Area

Recently, TheatreWorks president Glenn R. Couture, other members of the board, and special dignitaries were on hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the new enclosed reception area, which was once part of TheatreWorks New Milford's back deck. The ceremony was held as the theater was getting ready to stage a performance of its current main stage offering, the Irish comedy-drama, THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN by Martin McDonagh.
