Daniel Radcliffe won Best Actor in a Play at London's WhatsOnStage Awards yesterday, for his performance in the Michael Grandage Company production of THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN, by Martin McDonagh. Director Michael Grandage also won Best Director for his company's inaugural season of work, including THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN.

Atlantic Theater Company will present their annual Gala on Monday, February 24, 2014 at The Pierre (2 East 61st Street). Directed by Neil Pepe with musical direction by Matt Gallagher, Writers' Choice will salute Atlantic's iconic playwrights with an evening of unexpected songs.

THE BEAUTY QUEEN OF LEENANE by Martin McDonagh will be directed by Jean Lippincott at the Prescott Center for the Arts. The show runs: tonight, February 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 & 15, 2014 at 7:30; and February 9 & 16, 2014 at 2:00.

The Hartt School opens 2014 with an exciting new initiative to share the incredible work of its students and faculty more broadly. Cutting Ball Theater continues its 15th season with Alfred Jarry's UBU ROI in a new translation by Rob Melrose. Russian director Yury Urnov (Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company) helms this irreverent take on world leaders. Featuring David Sinaiko, Ponder Goddard, Marilet Martinez, Bill Boynton, Nathaniel Justiniano, and Andrew Quick, UBU ROI plays tonight, January 24 through February 23 (Press opening: January 30) at the Cutting Ball Theater in residence at EXIT on Taylor (277 Taylor Street) in San Francisco. On Saturday, January 18, Luna Theater Company continues its captivating Once Upon a Time season with the Philadelphia revival of "THE PILLOWMAN" by Martin McDonagh. Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) will present Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming world premiere of Outside Mullingar, the new play by Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner John Patrick Shanley, directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes. OUTSIDE MULLINGAR will run at MTC's Samuel J. FriedmanTheatre (261 West 47th Street) with previews beginning Friday, January 3, 2014 for a Thursday, January 23, 2014 opening night. The second play in MALIBU PLAYHOUSE'S 2013-2014 season will be the West Coast Premiere of Belfry by Billy Roche, opening Friday, January 31, 2014. The play will be directed by Veronica Brady and stars Michael Hyland, Rebekah Tripp and 2010 American Idol contestant Carson Higgins. 'Twas the night before Christmas, and through the Houston area people were shopping, cursing their error. Why did they wait for the last few minutes to buy so many holiday presents? Cozy, at home, two theater enthusiasts discussed theatrical amusements. There were funny shows, and sad ones. Some had music and joviality, while others encouraged civic responsibility. But, sadly, the list of dream shows to see just grew and grew. Wouldn't it be great if Houston produced just a few? They may have been done, but not since we started seeing everything.
