The 2010-2011 season will feature world premieres from Academy Award® winner Ethan Coen, Pulitzer and Tony Award® winner David Auburn, Lucy Thurber, a return to the work of Tony Award® and Nobel Prize winner Harold Pinter and a 25th anniversary one-act festival that will reunite a who's who of Atlantic alumni playwrights, directors and actors.

DUSK RINGS A BELL, starring Kate Walsh ('Private Practice,' 'Grey's Anatomy') and Paul Sparks (Broadway's HEDDA GABLER) began previews Wednesday, May 19; and officially opened Thursday, May 27; it played a limited engagement and will close on Sunday, June 20 Off-Broadway at Atlantic Stage 2 (330 West 16 Street).

Center Theatre Group's production of 'The Lieutenant of Inishmore,' Martin McDonagh's strikingly original black comedy follows Padraic (played by Chris Pine), a terrorist deemed too angry for the IRA, and the swath of destruction he cuts on his return to Inishmore to care for a beloved pet. 'The Lieutenant of Inishmore' begins previews at the Mark Taper Forum on June 30, opens July 11 and continues through August 8, 2010.

Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announced that the Alley Theatre subscription season, the Theatre's 64th, will combine two world premieres, including Rajiv Joseph's psychological thriller The Medusa Body and Herbert Siguenza's new solo play A Weekend With Pablo Picasso, with new large-scale productions of Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up, the fantasy by J.M. In Sunday night's closing performance of A BEHANDING IN SPOKANE, Martin McDonagh's new play starring Christopher Walken, a burning candle failed to stay lit, the New York Post reports. In the play, Walken's character covers characters Toby and Marilyn (played by Anthony Mackie and Zoe Kazan, respectively) in gasoline and leaves them in a room with a candle burning in a can of petrol. However, at Sunday's performance, the flame went out. The problem was soon fixed by a stagehand, for whom the audience applauded enthusiastically, the Post reports. The event was widely discussed at the play's closing party, held at the restaurant Gansevort 69.
