In Sunday night's closing performance of A BEHANDING IN SPOKANE, Martin McDonagh's new play starring Christopher Walken, a burning candle failed to stay lit, the New York Post reports. In the play, Walken's character covers characters Toby and Marilyn (played by Anthony Mackie and Zoe Kazan, respectively) in gasoline and leaves them in a room with a candle burning in a can of petrol. However, at Sunday's performance, the flame went out. The problem was soon fixed by a stagehand, for whom the audience applauded enthusiastically, the Post reports. The event was widely discussed at the play's closing party, held at the restaurant Gansevort 69.
