SPOKANE, CARNAGE et al. to Play The Alley Theatre in '10-'11

The Alley Theatre was founded over sixty years ago as Houston's theatre company. It exists to provide audiences with the highest quality theatre, offering a wide variety of work including new plays, classics, the re-discovered and the rarely-performed, and new musical theatre, with an emphasis on new American works - to provide the inspirational and the provocative - to make our audiences think, feel, dream and be entertained. The Gift Theatre Presents Martin McDonagh’s LONESOME WEST, 10/28-12/19

Nominated for Tony Award for Best Play, The Lonesome West is the third play in Martin McDonagh's Connemara trilogy which includes The Skull of Connemara and The Beauty Queen of Leenane. Ensemble member Sheldon Patinkin, who directed The Gift's critically acclaimed, Jeff Nominated production of Beauty Queen, returns to direct the hilariously violent examination of brotherly love.

Lantern Theatre Company Holds CHEKHOV FESTIVAL, 11/5-21

Lantern Theater Company will present a weekend of literary events and performances with The Chekhov Festival from Friday, November 5 - Sunday, November 7, in celebration of the influential work of Russian playwright, short-story writer, and physician Anton Chekhov (1860-1904) during the 150th anniversary year of his birth. The Chekhov Festival features a series of performances, readings, and discussions with scholars over dinner. The three-day Festival is offered in conjunction with the 2010/11 season opener, Uncle Vanya (through Nov. 21), Lantern's first-ever production of a full-length Chekhov work.

'A Behanding In Spokane' Starring Dennis Creaghan At GableStage

Take a man searching for his missing hand, two con artists out to make a few hundred bucks, an overly curious hotel clerk, and the rest is up for grabs. This hilarious new black comedy is by the author of two previous Best Play Carbonell winners at GableStage ~ The Pillowman (2006) and The Lieutenant of Inishmore (2007).

THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE to premiere ACT, 10/21.

ACT concludes its 2010 Mainstage season with the much anticipated Seattle premiere of The Lieutenant of Inishmore by Oscar-winning author Martin McDonagh. Directed by ACT Artistic Director Kurt Beattie, this gleefully gruesome black comedy revolves around Padraic (Jeffrey Fracé), a merciless Irish terrorist deemed too extreme for the IRA, and his obsessive love for his black cat, Wee Thomas. Wee Thomas is Padraic's only friend, and when Padraic learns of Wee Thomas' untimely and unnatural death, the carnage begins. His short list of suspects includes his father Donny (Seán G. Griffin) and his neighbor Davey (MJ Sieber). Aiding Padraic in his bloody quest for vengeance is Mairead (Elise Hunt), a young terrorist groupie, and stalking him are three of his fellow Irish National Liberation Army members (Tim Hyland, David Roby, and Brian D. Simmons), looking for vengeance of their own.

Walken Joins Farrow and Blair in 'Dark Horse' Film

According to an article from The Hollywood Reporter, actor Christopher Walken, Mia Farrow, Selma Blair and Jordan Gelber have signed onto star in the indie drama, 'Dark Horse,' directed by Todd Solondz.

Genesis West Presents CURSE OF THE STARVING CLASS, 11/5

On Friday, November 5, Genesis West of Santa Barbara will present the modern American masterpiece, Curse of the Starving Class by Sam Shepard with a newly revised edition by the playwright. A major work by one of contemporary theatre's most respected and celebrated writers; Time Magazine said, 'It may be his best.' Winner of the Obie Award for best play. The Village Voice called it, 'Epic, unpredictable and deliriously ironic'. Genesis West's production of this brilliant dark satire will be the Santa Barbara premier. The production will run through November 20, 2010 with performances Thursday through Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm at Center Stage Theater.

WaterTower Theatre Announces Cast for LT. OF IRISHMORE

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced casting details for Martin McDonagh's The Lieutenant of Inishmore, directed by Terry Martin. The production will be performed on the Main Stage, January 7-February 6, 2011. The cast features Jason C. Kane as Donny; Tony Daussat as Davey; Matt Moore as Padraic; Kayla Carlyle as Mairead; Matt Tolbert as James; Clay Yocum as Christy; Ian Ferguson as Brendan and Evan Fuller as Joey.
