RIOULT will present the world premiere of The Great Mass along with three acclaimed repertory pieces during its 2009 New York season, running April 14 - 19, at The Joyce Theater, 175 Eighth Avenue at 19th Street. The Great Mass is a full-evening work set to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Mass in C Minor, and will be joined on the schedule by Mr. Rioult's Wien (1994), Views of the Fleeting World (2008) and Les Noches (2005). The season will include a Gala Fundraiser honoring two-time Emmy Award-winner Sonya Hamlin, president of Sonya Hamlin Communications, to be held at the Altman Building in Chelsea on Wednesday, April 15th (*formerly The Pascal Rioult Dance Theatre).
Indiana University's Prof Osamu James Nakagawa Set As Guggenheim Fellow

Indiana University Associate Professor Osamu James Nakagawa was confirmed as a Guggenheim Fellow last week.
Fellows were announced Tuesday, April 7. This marks the 85th year for the annual competition, established to honor 'stellar achievement and exceptional promise for continued accomplishment' to add to the 'educational, literary, artistic and scientific power of this country, and also to provide for the cause of better international understanding,' according to the organization's mission statement.

Eugene Lang College The New School for Liberal Arts has named renowned Forsythe dancers and educators Jill Johnson and Mario Zambrano as the 2009 Artists in Residence at The New School. Johnson and Zambrano will create with the students an original work inspired by One Flat Thing, reproduced, a work by choreographer William Forsythe of The Forsythe Company, which premiered in 2000.

The four-performance engagement will feature two premieres: the world premiere of Footsteps in the Snow, set to music by Arvo Part, and the New York City premiere of Shabon, set to the music of Steve Reich, as well as Love Stories (2008), a three movement pas de deux, and the beloved Linked (2008) '...a bright explosive tour de force' (The Daily Gazette) inspired by the music of Pat Metheny.
