10th Annual Yale Drama Series Award Recipient Revealed

One of the theater world's most prestigious playwriting prizes, the Yale Drama Series Prize, will be given to Emily Schwend for her play Utility.  The 2016 award recipient was chosen by playwright Nicholas Wright, who has served as judge for the 2015 and 2016 competitions.

Tickets on Sale for THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY at Kravis Center This Spring

One of the most romantic stories ever written, THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY won the 2014 Tony Awards® for Best Original Score and Best Orchestrations. The musical adaptation of the best-selling novel and popular film will play at The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts April 26 - May 1. Tickets are on sale now.

BWW Review: Sweet and Sad SECRET GARDEN Graces Lyric Music Theater's Stage

Portland's Lyric Music Theater has mounted a sweetly sad production of the Marsha Norman-Lucy Simon musical version of the Frances Hodgson Burnett novel, The Secret Garden, that is sure to touch the hearts of young and old alike. Directed by Joshua Chard, the production showcases the versatility of the company and offers a gentle lyrical contrast to previous endeavors such as Sweeney Todd and The Addams Family.

Pulitzer Prize Winner David Lindsay-Abaire to Join Juilliard as Co-Director of Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program

James Houghton, Richard Rodgers Director ofJuilliard's Drama Division, announced today that Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire will join Marsha Normanas new co-director of Juilliard's Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program, beginning in the fall 2016 semester. Mr. Lindsay-Abaire, an alumnus of the program, will succeed Christopher Durang, who has served as co-director of the program with Ms. Norman since 1994.

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that the Minneapolis premiere of THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY will run June 21-26 at the Trust's historic Orpheum Theatre (910 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis) as part of the Bank of America Broadway on Hennepin Season. An unmistakably romantic story, THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY won the 2014 Tony Awards for Best Original Score and Best Orchestrations.

Next up in its 10th Anniversary season, Mt. Juliet's Encore Theatre Company presents Marsha Norman's 'night, Mother. The show opens Friday, March 25 and runs weekends through April 3. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes prior to show time.

Winner of the 2014 Tony Awards for Best Original Score and Best Orchestrations, The Bridges of Madison County makes its Nashville debut with a limited, one-week engagement at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center's Andrew Jackson Hall on May 10-15.
