IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE Delivers NBC its Biggest Saturday Night Audience This Season

From 8-11 p.m., an encore telecast of the 1946 movie classic 'It's a Wonderful Life' (0.8/3 in 18-49, 4.1 million viewers) delivered NBC's top total-viewer result for a Saturday night so far this season and best for an in-season Saturday since January 21 ('Betty White's 90th Birthday' and encores of 'Betty White's Off Their Rockers' and 'SVU'). From its first half-hour to its sixth, 'It's a Wonderful Life' increased its 18-49 rating by 57 percent (to a 1.1 from a 0.7) and its overall viewership by 51 percent or 1.7 million persons (to 5.1 million from 3.4 million).

'Saturday Night Live,' with host Jeremy Renner and musical guest Maroon 5, averaged a 5.1/12 in metered-market households, the show's second-highest overnights of the season. The only higher rating so far this season was the 5.4 on October 20 with an edition hosted by Bruno Mars. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, last night's 'Saturday Night Live' averaged a 2.7 rating, 12 share in adults 18-49.
