PFM Announces VMA 2009/2010 Season, Tix On Sale 7/27

Professional Facilities Management (PFM) is pleased to announce Veterans Memorial Auditorium's (VMA) 2009/2010 season. Tickets for these performances go on-sale Monday, July 27 at 10A.
J.L. 'Lynn' Singleton, PFM President, said, 'I am very happy that PPAC and the VMA are PFM members. PPAC is looking forward to having a stronger relationship with the VMA for the approaching performance season and in the coming years. Both theatres are important and historic cultural centers in Rhode Island, and with the help of PFM, we hope to make major strides in the coming season.'

AN EVENING AT THE CARLYLE, A New Musical Revue presented by Algonquin Theater Productions, will extend its previously announced four-week engagement to an open-ended run at The Algonquin Theater (123 East 24th Street) where it plays in repertory with the musical Sessions, now in its 2nd year. It was announced today that Billy Crystal will bring 700 SUNDAYS, his Tony Award-winning Broadway blockbuster, to six cities for limited engagements this fall, launching at Washington, D.C.'s National Theatre September 8 - 17. The tour will also play Philadelphia, Dallas, Palm Beach, Miami and Atlanta. 700 SUNDAYS, a play performed and written by Mr. Crystal with additional content by Alan Zweibel is directed by two-time Tony Award winner Des McAnuff.

Auditions for the second show in Pioneer Theatre Company's 2009- 2010 Season, Is He Dead? will be held on Friday, June 5th, 2009 from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. Noon to 1 p.m. is reserved for AEA (Equity) members only, but AEA members may sign up for any time slot. Callbacks will be the morning of Saturday, June 6th, 2009; the time will be announced. Auditions will be held in Room
245 at the Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre. Auditioners will be required to read from the script.

The Apple Tree is an evening of three funny, poignant and fascinating one-act musicals about men, women and temptation with music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick (the team that created Fiddler on the Roof, She Loves Me and The Rothschilds), and a book by Bock and Harnick with contributions from Jerome Coopersmith.

Crown City Theatre Company is set to present The Apple Tree. Previews will take place June 3 & 4 at 8 pm. The show runs from June 5 - June 28. General admission tickets cost $20, tickets for students and seniors cost $15. Tickets to preview shows cost $15, $10 students and seniors.
