Photo Flash: Sneak Peek at New York City Ballet's THE NUTCRACKER

New York City Ballet will open its annual season of George Balanchine's The Nutcracker on Friday, November 24 at 8 p.m. at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Due to Hurricane Harvey Houston Ballet Announces New Dates and Venue

Due to Hurricane Harvey, Houston Ballet is unable to perform the opening two productions at the company's home venue. However, Houston Ballet is pleased to report that select performances of fall programming have been rescheduled at THE HOBBY CENTER - SAROFIM HALL. For a limited time on October 26 and 27 at The Hobby Center, Houston Ballet will perform an exhilarating mixed repertory program, Poetry in Motion, featuring a collection of three works that reflect different traditions and expressions in ballet.

The Bolshoi Ballet, New York City Ballet, and Paris Opera Ballet will share the stage where the masterpiece first premiered on April 13, 1967, for five historic performances celebrating one of the greatest creative artists of the 20th century and the global recognition the work has received.

BALLETNOW Will Showcase 24 Dance Superstars in Iconic and Contemporary Dance Favorites

As The Music Center wraps up its 14th season of Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center, Angelenos have the opportunity to see some of the world's finest dancers perform a mix of iconic ballets and new pieces in The Music Center's BalletNOW.  Following the popularity of the first BalletNOW in 2015, The Music Center commissioned this highly innovative three-performance program, featuring international ballet sensation and New York City Ballet Principal Tiler Peck as curator.  Peck created a mixed repertory to highlight the versatility and athleticism of today's ballet dancers including pieces that pair classical dancers with their contemporaries in other dance genres. 

New York City Ballet Presents its Here and Now Festival

New York City Ballet continues to include new choreographies in its repertoire, billed this season as the Here and Now Festival. On May 12, 2017 NYCB performed four newer works created in 1994, 1998, 2006, and a world premiere.

Boston Lyric Opera's THE RAKE'S PROGRESS Brings Stravinsky Back to Boston

Boston Lyric Opera's (BLO) production of The Rake's Progress, which opens March 12 for a four-performance run at Emerson/Cutler Majestic Theatre, brings to life the traditional story of a young man seduced by monetary and carnal pleasures at the hand of a devilish valet.  The work hasn't been presented in a fully staged professional production since BLO produced it in 1987.  A professional concert version and several conservatories have been staged, but productions in Boston are infrequent.

New York City Ballet to Host 2016 Fall Gala in September

On September 20, 2016, New York City Ballet will open its 2016-17 Season at Lincoln Center with the fifth anniversary of its annual Fall Fashion Gala, featuring an evening of world premiere ballets created by an internationally-acclaimed roster of choreographers and fashion designers.

New York City Ballet Spring Performances Kick Off in April

Today at Lincoln Center, New York City Ballet begins its Spring Season rehearsal period with the Company's 90 plus roster of dancers preparing 24 different works from its unparalleled repertory for six weeks of performances, April 19 through May 29, at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center.
