Porchlight Music Theatre 2012-2013 Season to Include PAL JOEY, GIFTS OF THE MAGI

Michael Weber, Artistic Director of Porchlight Music Theatre, announces Porchlight's 18th season. The season includes the Chicago premiere of A Class Act, September 1 - October 14; a new to Chicago holiday production of The Gifts of the Magi, November 17 - December 30 and two classics of the American musical canon: Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, February 2 - March 17, 2013 and Pal Joey, April 20 - June 2, 2013. Weber described Porchlight's 2012 - 2013 18th season as "Continuing the path we began in 2011, by presenting Chicago's audiences with incomparable productions that not only entertain but also challenge audiences to see music theatre in a new way." "Early Bird" Season Membership Renewals are on sale March 6 - April 1. New Season Memberships go on sale Monday, April 2 and single tickets to the 2012-2013 season go on sale Monday, April 23. Eric Metaxes to Host SITC Debate with Dinesh D'Souza, Bart Ehrman, 3/5

This Monday, March 5th at 7 PM, Socrates in the City will present a very special debate featuring noted author and Christian apologist Dinesh D'Souza and self-proclaimed agnostic Bart D. Ehrman at The New York Society for Ethical Culture, 2 West 64th Street (at Central Park West). Titled GOD, SUFFERING & EVIL, the event will be hosted by bestselling author and Founder of Socrates in the City, Eric Metaxas. Just last month, Metaxas was the keynote speaker at the 2012 National Prayer Breakfast for President Obama and the First Lady. Past speakers at that annual event have included such varied and distinguished luminaries as Mother Teresa, Bono and Tony Blair. Among the VIPs set to attend GOD, SUFFERING & EVIL include legendary TV talk show host Dick Cavett, and Mark St. Germain with Carolyn Rossi Copeland, author and producer respectively for Off-Broadway's smash hit play Freud's Last Session.

Pittsburgh Public Theater is set to present the Pittsburgh premiere of Freud's Last Session, Mark St. Germain's new play about an imagined meeting between outspoken atheist Sigmund Freud (David Wohl) and Christian writer C.S. Lewis (Jonathan Crombie). Freud's Last Session won the 2011 Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Play.

FREUD'S LAST SESSION is opening yet another major U.S. production, with performances beginning at Pittsburgh Public Theater this Thursday, March 1st. The official opening night is March 9th and the limited engagement is set to run through April 1st. Under the direction of Mary B. Robinson, the Pittsburgh debut of FREUD'S LAST SESSION will star Jonathan Crombie as C. S. Lewis and David Wohl as Sigmund Freud.
