The Broadway-bound musical Nerds, about computer giants Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and their Silicon Valley colleagues, is having an industry reading on Thursday, June 21 in New York City. Casey Hushion (Fat Camp, Asst. Director of In The Heights and The Drowsy Chaperone) is directing. Nadia DiGiallonardo (Hair) provides musical supervision.

Dennis Grimaldi Productions (Nice Work If You Can Get It, Godspell, Angels in America) will present industry readings of the new musical fantasy, A Kiss From Alexander, Monday, May 21st at 1pm and 4pm at Shetler Studios, 244 W 54th St, #12 in Manhattan. Denis Jones (Legally Blonde, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Broadway Bares) is directing and choreographing. Book and Lyrics is by Broadway and theatre veteran, Stephan de Ghelder. Music is by Brad Simmons, most recently musical director, Lysistrata Jones.

Multiple online reports are now stating that the NEWSIES readings went very well this week and that next up for the Disney show will be a full production at Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey in the Fall of 2011. No dates or cast have naturally yet been announced for the production.

The skies are blue, the corn is 'high as an elephant's eye,' and the cowboys and their girls are dancing and singing now at Pull-tight in preparation for the opening of Rodgers and Hammerstein's perennial favorite, Oklahoma! This exuberant and tuneful production tells the familiar story of Laurey (Rachel Melius) and Curly (Zach Pless) against the background of Oklahoma territory at the turn of the century. Curly is vying for Laurey's affections with Jud (Cody Muller), the brooding farmhand, as his rival. A secondary romance between Ado Annie (Megan Roddick) and Will Parker (Peter Horecka) is also developing, while the Persian peddler, Ali Hakim (Ryan Garrett), plays Ado's other suitor. Laurey's Aunt Eller (Christen Sottolano) acts as matriarch to all.
