The daughter of English and Trinidadian parents, New York-based lyricist, composer and award-winning vocalist, Tessa Souter's individual style of jazz is as exotically beautiful as it is absolutely unique, evoking Spain, North Africa and the Middle East. 'Centered by the sheer skill and vocal artistry with which she imbues everything she sings ... at once unassumingly virtuosic and uncontrivedly emotional, the Souter voice is quite simply one of the most attractive sounds in contemporary vocal jazz.' [Chris Parker, Jazz Vortex]
For bassist/composer Sean Smith, his forthcoming CD 'Trust' opens an exciting new chapter in his musical life. It's his third album as a leader but his first since 2001 and the debut release for his own imprint, Smithereen Records. It features his well-traveled quartet of guitarist John Hart, saxophonist John Ellis, and drummer Russell Meissner, exploring his original compositions. And it marks a rededication to his music following his recovery from a career-threatening incident in 2007.

Silver's....voice is like pure sterling. Her phrasing is exquisite, her clarity and enunciation on par with the great Jo Stafford and her breath control - a talent so often, and so wrongfully, overlooked - rivals Sinatra's."
