Green Space's 2018-2019 Season Kicks Off Next Month

Green Space has announced a diverse roster of artists for its signature programs this September. Take Root will present an evening of work by Nicole Colbert Dance/Theatre & Logos Dance Collective on September 21st and 22nd, and Fertile Ground showcases works-in-progress by multiple dance artists on September 23rd.

The fourth Edinburgh International Culture Summit kicks off next week in Scotland's capital city, during the peak of the festival season. The Summit, this year titled Culture: Connecting Peoples and Places will address three areas of cultural debate - Culture in a Networked World, Culture and Investment and Culture and Wellbeing.

Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre presents Green Afternoon VI, an annual interactive garden installation and performance at the home of architects Marcia Previti and Peter Gumpel in East Hampton, NY on Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 5pm-7pm. The evening begins at 5 pm with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and several outdoor sitting rooms featuring performance installations, with performers dancing in tree houses, on outdoor sculptures, in and around the swimming pool, in the woods, and more. After the moving installations, at 5:50 p.m., the audience will move to the lawn for a seated performance of Selwyn's developing work Crossroads. Green Afternoon VI takes place at 230 Old Stone Hwy, East Hampton, NY 11937. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased at www.amandaselwyndance.org.

Adam H. Weinert Reconstructs Ted Shawn's Culminating Achievement 'Dance Of The Ages'

Adam H. Weinert performs Jacob's Pillow founder Ted Shawn's epic work Dance of the Ages, the first evening-length modern dance work ever presented, in celebration of the work's 80th anniversary. This exclusive engagement transforms the Pillow's campus to reflect the original performance as first experienced in 1938, featuring use of the Pillow's original barn studio, now known as the Bakalar Studio, traditional production components, and an authentic pre-performance Tea Garden lecture.

Anne Bogard And SITI Premiere Euripides' THE BACCHAE as Part of Next Wave Festival

SITI Company, the internationally acclaimed ensemble theater co-founded by American director Anne Bogart, presents Bogart's stunning direction of Euripides' tragedy The Bacchae.  Presented as part of BAM's Next Wave festival, the production will celebrate its New York premiere on Wednesday through Saturday, October 3 through 6, 2018, 7:30 PM and Sunday, October 7 at 3:00 PM for 5 performances at the BAM Harvey Theater.  Tickets are $30, 45, 65 (weekday); $35, 50, 75 (weekend). Catherine Hurlin Awarded 2018 Princess Grace Foundation-USA Dance Fellowship

American Ballet Theatre Soloist Catherine Hurlin is the recipient of a 2018 Princess Grace Award (Barbara & John Lehman Dance Award). Hurlin received one of nine fellowships granted in the Dance and Choreography category. The annual Princess Grace Foundation-USA awards were announced in New York City on July 26.

Princeton Ballet School Introduces New Dance Class For People With Parkinson's Disease

Princeton Ballet School, the official school of American Repertory Ballet, is proud to introduce its NEW Dance for Parkinson's classes for people living with Parkinson's disease and their caregivers. The four week program begins with a FREE class on Thursday, August 9 at the Princeton Ballet School located at the Princeton Shopping Center above McCaffrey's, 301 N. Harrison Street. Classes are from 12:00 pm - 1:15 pm.
