With a 5-day domestic debut of $221M, Walt Disney Animation Studios' “Moana 2” has shattered numerous box office records including the biggest 5-day opening of all time, and more.

BroadwayWorld sat down with songwriting team Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear to discuss their new songs for Moana 2, which is now in theaters. The duo shares insights into their creative process and previews two new songs from the film.

Fandango, the online movie ticketing service, has announced that Moana 2 is the best first-day ticket pre-seller for an animated film released in 2024 surpassing Inside Out 2, Despicable Me 4, and Kung Fu Panda 4.

Moana and Maui return to the big screen in Disney’s newest adventure, “Moana 2” at the El Capitan Theatre November 27 through December 15. Before the movie, guests can see Moana on stage and take photos with our Moana and Maui statue photo ops. Guests can also be among the first to see the film with early screenings. Disney’s THE LION KING celebrated 25 triumphant years in the West End’s Lyceum Theatre on the afternoon of Sunday, 20 October with a special gala performance attended by the original creatives of the show including Julie Taymor, Lebo M, Richard Hudson, Irene Mecchi, Roger Allers and Donald Holder. This past Saturday evening, the NSO Pops season opened with a bang as Tony Award winning performer Heather Headley made her Kennedy Center Concert Hall debut.
