THE FAVOURITE, A STAR IS BORN Among Nominees for 2019 Gold Derby Film Awards

"The Favourite" was the favorite film of more than 2,500 users who voted for the 17th Annual Gold Derby Film Awards nominations. It scored 12 nominations including Best Picture, Best Director (Yorgos Lanthimos), Best Actress (Olivia Colman), Best Supporting Actress (Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz) and Best Ensemble. Vicky Vox and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith Present The 19th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards

WhatsOnStage today announce that Vicky Vox and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith will present the 19th annual WhatsOnStage Awards on 3 March 2019 at the Prince of Wales Theatre. Both hosts are nominated at this year's event - Vox for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her performance in Regent's Park Open Air Theatre's Little Shop of Horrors; and Holdbrook-Smith for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance as Ike Turner in Tina - The Tina Turner Musical at the Aldwych Theatre.

Mark Gatiss Joins The Cast Of SUBLIME at Trafalgar Studios

Stage and screen star Mark Gatiss (Sherlock, BBC1; Doctor Who, BBC1; The Madness of George III, Nottingham Playhouse; The League of Gentlemen, BBC Two and UK tour) will be lending his voice to the part of Kosley, a hysterical talking computer, in the world premiere of Dark Sublime. Gatiss joins the previously announced Martina Sirtis (Star Trek: The Next Generation) who will be making her West End debut.

Sandi Toksvig Adapts TREASURE ISLAND For Haymarket Theatre

The first production from Leicester's newly re-opened Haymarket Theatre will be the world premiere of Treasure Island, penned by national treasure and established author Sandi Toksvig (The Great British Bake Off, QI).

Michelle Collins Stars In MY DAD'S GAP YEAR At Park Theatre

Former EastEnders and Coronation Street star Michelle Collins will join the cast of Tom Wright's knockabout comedy My Dad's Gap Year, alongside Adam Lannon, Alex Britt, Max Percy and previously announced Victoria Gigante. Directed by Rikki Beadle-Blair, My Dad's Gap Year opens at Park Theatre on Wednesday 30 January 2019 for a strictly limited season.

Claes Bang is Cast as Dracula in New BBC/Netflix Miniseries

Comedy Series Sally4Ever Debuts 11/11 On HBO

The comedy series SALLY4EVER will begin its seven-episode season SUNDAY, NOV. 11 (10:30-11:00 p.m. ET/PT), it was announced today by Amy Gravitt, executive vice president, HBO Programming. Produced for HBO and Sky Atlantic by Hush Ho and Various Artists Ltd., the show was created by Julia Davis (creator of the original British series “Camping”), who also executive produces, stars in, and wrote and directed every episode.

BWW Review: PRIDE AND PREJUDICE at Pittsburgh Public Is a Game Worth Playing

There are plenty of ways of describing Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Sophisticated, approachable, elegant, witty. But very few would describe it as wacky... unless those lucky few had seen Kate Hamill's production, as directed by Desdemona Chiang at the Pittsburgh Public Theater. I can't remember the last time I had quite as much fun at a 'classical' period piece, even while realizing that this was certain to be one of the most divisive shows in PPT history. Throughout the evening I heard audiences laughing, clapping, even cheering the production's gleeful ingenuity, while at intermission I heard several people complain that 'it's a wonderful production of a stupid play' and that they 'thought it would be more Masterpiece Theatre.'

2018-2019 National Theatre Live Broadcasts Start At The MAC With JULIE, Today

National Theatre Live broadcasts return to the McAninch Arts Center, located at 425 Fawell Blvd. on the campus of College of DuPage, as part of the MAC's 2018-2019 Season. Kicking off the series today, Oct. 4 will be "Julie," a contemporary adaptation of August Strindberg's masterpiece, "Miss Julie."
