Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presents a new Broadway production of the classic musical On the Twentieth Century starring Tony & Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth, Golden Globe, SAG Award winner & Tony nominee Peter Gallagher, Tony nominee Andy Karl, Mark Linn-Baker, Tony winner Michael McGrath and Tony winner Mary Louise Wilson. On the Twentieth Century is choreographed by Tony winner Warren Carlyle and directed by six-time Tony nominee Scott Ellis, and features music by Cy Coleman, and book & lyrics by Betty ComdenandAdolph Green. On the Twentieth Century is based on plays by Ben Hecht, Charles MacArthur & Bruce Millholland. The original Broadway production was directed by Harold Prince.

The world's preeminent classical guitar competition, the Parkening International Guitar Competition, has selected 15 standout competitors for its fourth triennial competition. Representing 11 countries, they will vie for the largest prize purse among guitar competitions, competing at Pepperdine University from Thursday, May 28, through Saturday, May 30, 2015, on the University's campus in Malibu, California.
LA Philharmonic's Tom Hooten to Join Faculty at San Francisco Conservatory of Music

San Francisco, CA. - The San Francisco Conservatory of Music is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Hooten, principal trumpet of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, to its collegiate faculty. The former principal trumpet of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and an experienced teacher, Hooten joins a distinguished faculty of brass instructors, many of whom hold principal positions with the San Francisco Symphony, Ballet and Opera orchestras. Hooten will assume his appointment in the fall of 2015, maintaining an active teaching studio in San Francisco while retaining his position with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Trustus Theatre to Stage GODSPELL

Trustus Theatre is bringing Godspell to the Thigpen Main Stage this spring with an updated score and contemporary staging. This revival promises to show audiences a new side of this classic musical from 1971. Under the direction of Dewey Scott-Wiley and with the choreography of Caroline Lewis Jones, this production pits the sterility of an electronic world against the vibrancy and color of humanity to portray the gospel according to Matthew. The Trustus production also boasts a contemporized score that incorporates rock and even hip-hop into the well-known tunes from this popular musical. Godspell opens Friday March 20th at 8:00pm and runs through April 11th, 2015. Special Saturday matinees start at 2:00pm. Tickets may be purchased at www.trustus.org.
DePaul University to Present THE DAY JOHN HENRY CAME TO SCHOOL, 4/7-5/16

The Theatre School at DePaul University will present The Day John Henry Came to School by Eric Pfeffinger, directed by Ernie Nolan, as the final production of the 2014-2015 Chicago Playworks for Families and Young Audiences season. This production opens April 7, 2015 and runs through May 16, 2015, at DePaul's historic Merle Reskin Theatre. Performances are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 AM, and Saturdays 2 PM. Special Friday performances (10 AM) will occur on April 24 and May 1. A Sunday performance will be held on April 12 (2 PM).
