Lookingglass Theatre Company opens its 30th Anniversary Season with the return of the award-winning, circus-infused Hard Times, adapted and directed by Artistic Director and Ensemble Member Heidi Stillman from the book by Charles Dickens and in association with The Actors Gymnasium. Hard Times runs now through January 14, 2018 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N Michigan Ave at Pearson. Playhouse Creatures Theatre Presents a Workshop Reading of Leslie Kimbell's FOUR OLD BROADS

Playhouse Creatures Theatre Company will present the New York workshop reading of Leslie Kimbell's Four Old Broads October 28th at 3pm. The performance will take place at the Cherry Lane Studio Theatre located at 38 Commerce Streetin the West Village. The reading is free and open to the public. Reservations can be made by emailing fouroldbroads@gmail.com.

Great Music Returns to St. Bart's for the 2017-18 Season

Great Music at St. Bart's, the concert series produced by the Mid-Manhattan Performing Arts Foundation (MMPAF), for the past seven years has presented music in St. Bartholomew's Church, a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of New York located in the heart of midtown Manhattan. The magnificent 1918 Romanesque-style church features a portal designed by Stanford White and a grand Byzantine-style interior and two of New York's unlikely but outstanding concert spaces: the 150-seat chapel, an intimate and acoustically brilliant space that is perfectly suited for contemporary chamber music, and the majestic 1,000-seat sanctuary outfitted with comfortable chairs enabling flexible seating whose Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ is the largest in New York City and one of the finest examples of the American Classic Organ in the U.S.

Armitage Gone! Dance to Present HALLOWEEN UNLEASHED at La MaMa

The core of Armitage's work centers on a series of dance 'dreamscapes' that take the viewer on a poetic journey to evoke mysterious landscapes of reverie, dream and altered consciousness. Her latest work, Halloween Unleashed: Dancing Bones, Tasting Darkness and the Skeleton Within, is a subversive comedy designed to spook adults and families in a live action rendition of Disney's 1929 animated masterpiece, The Skeleton Dance. Combined with images from the wild, capricious street theater of Haitian carnival, Halloween Unleashed offers punk attitude and visual high-jinx, in a dance where bones dance alone, shoes fly off feet, and skeletons turn into musical instruments.

NO NAME COMEDY Announces October Shows

'No Name... & A Bag O' Chips' comedy / variety show producer Eric Vetter recently announced two October 2017 shows at Otto's in Manhattan with the first on Friday, Oct 13th to feature Dash Kwiatkowski (web series Neighborhood Watchmen) Jaqi Furback (She-Devil Festival, NYC, 2017) the music of acoustic duo The NewArkansans, (TNA) and a few surprises.
