Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Angela's Ashes, and bestseller Tis, Frank McCourt, and his brother Malachy, also a successful author, joined talents to write an autobiographical account of their years growing up in poverty in Ireland, A Couple of Blaguards. Though times were tough in Limerick, the tales spun by the brothers McCourt simmer with bittersweet recollections, ferocious humor and a parade of colorful characters from the priest who warns of sinners' eyeballs exploding in hell to the McCourt grandmother who spits on Franks unruly Presbyterian hair to tame it.

Playwright Christopher Durang - who won his first Tony Award in 2013 for his comedy VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE on Broadway - will make his debut in the role of Vanya when the play is presented at Bucks County Playhouse (70 S. Main St) in New Hope, PA. From July 17 to August 10, it has been announced by the Playhouse's newly-appointed producing team -- Producing Director Alexander Fraser, Executive Producer Robyn Goodman and Producers Stephen Kocis and Josh Fiedler.

Four-time Tony® Award winning playwright Terrence McNally just celebrated two milestones on The Great White Way-his 20th Broadway production and the 50th Anniversary of his Broadway debut-with the opening night of his newest play, Mothers and Sons, at the Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street) last night, March 24, 2014. Over the course of five decades, Mr. McNally has chronicled the human experience with a wide range of works including Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, The Full Monty, Ragtime, Master Class, Love! Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) has announced its 75th Anniversary Season, starting with a salute to the theater's illustrious history with Neil Simon's Chapter Two, a comedy about love the second time around. Directing will be Golden Globe Winner® and four-time Academy Award® nominee Marsha Mason. Mason starred as Jennie in the film version of this hilarious and touching story that asks if you can start a second chapter when you can't let go of the first? The Elios Charitable Foundation continues to raise awareness and funds at this year's Hellenic Charity Ball on Saturday, November 2, 2013. Proceeds from the star-studded event benefit Greek educational and cultural programs throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. The biennial gala paid tribute to distinguished arts and entertainment luminaries in the Greek-American community; this year's honorees were San Francisco Symphony trumpet player of 47 years, Chris Bogios and his son, Counting Crows drummer, Jim Bogios; internationally acclaimed tenor, Mario Frangoulis; and American film producer, Stratton Leopold. Former honoree and mistress of ceremonies, Marilu Henner kept guests on their toes, while guests enjoyed a performance by former honoree Constantine Maroulis, traditional Greek dancing, and a surprise duet from Chris and Jim Bogios.
