Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Founder & Executive Producer; Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director) has announced that their annual Gala will take place Monday, November 16, 2015 at 583 Park Avenue. The event will celebrate the company and honor Tony and Grammy-winning composer and lyricists Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. The evening will feature musical numbers from Hairspray, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Catch Me If You Can, and the TV show 'Smash' and tributes and performances by Tony winner Christian Borle (Something Rotten, 'Smash'), Obie winner Bridget Everett (Rock Bottom, Jukebox Jackie), Annie Golden (Violet, 'Orange is the New Black'), Tony winner Nathan Lane (The Producers, Dedication or the Stuff of Dreams at Primary Stages), Aaron Tveit (Catch Me If You Can, Next to Normal), and other surprise guests.

Catalina Film Festival (CFF) today announced featured tributes and events for the Sept. 24 - 27 festival, held on the famed Catalina Island. Among the honorees for the 5th annual Festival are inaugural recipient of the Soundtrack of Our Lives Award, legendary songwriter Diane Warren; Avalon Award recipient, Mena Suvari (American Beauty, American Pie); Isla Earth Award recipient, Kristin Davis (Sex & the City, Couples Retreat); and Crest Award recipient, Lucas Till (X-Men: Apocalypse, Bravetown). FOX will kick off the new season of  Lee Daniels and Danny Strong's hot drama series EMPIRE with an all star screening and grand soiree at New York's famed Carnegie Hall on Saturday, September 12th.

Bailey Nolan (Ann Liv Young Dance Company) mounts a one-woman cabaret with a cast of ten, re-imagining 'Dumbo' as the tale of a gender-free outcast. Relayed through a series of vignettes told from the vantage point of Dumbo's mother (a retired showgirl played by Nolan herself), the extravaganza features fearless performers from her collective BabySkinGlove, including Charley Parden, Viva Soudan, Nessa Norich, Ellen Robin Rosenberg and Wesley Flash. With a pop music soundtrack that includes Mariah Carey, Johnny Cash, Florence and the Machine, Aerosmith and Joni Mitchell, Nolan and companions bridge the gap between unabashed self-indulgence and delicate nostalgia. The tale is told in two acts with a whirlwind of lightly choreographed emotions as explored on the laps of the audience.
