The Acting Company (TAC), in association with the Guthrie Theater, continues its 28-city national tour, stopping at the Guthrie Theater this month for the premiere of Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors.

Ellen Stewart, the legendary Founder and Director of the La MaMa E.T.C. -- the theatre that began in October 1961, and to this day continues to be of great importance to world culture - died on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan. Ms. Stewart died of natural causes after an extended illness, according to Mia Yoo, co-artistic director of La MaMa, E.T. C. (Experimental Theatre Club). Born November 7, 1919 in Chicago, Ms. Stewart was 91 at the time of her death.

WORKSHOP' conducted by the actress Susan Blackwell and actor and Tony-nominated writer Hunter Bell, both stars of the musical [title of show], which was given its world-premiere at the Vineyard in 2006 prior to its Broadway transfer in 2008.

According to the Ny Times, Broadway actress Margot Stevenson passed away in her Manhattan home on Sunday, January 2. She was 98 years old. Stevenson is survived by her daughter, Margot Avery.

The Museum of Modern Art presents 'Small Scale, Big Change: New Architectures of Social Engagement,' which will close on January 3, 2011. Burning Coal Theatre Company, a small professional theatre based in Raleigh, North Carolina announces its upcoming production of Crowns by Regina Taylor, directed by Rebecca Holderness. The production will run December 2 - 19, 2010 at the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 or $15 for students, seniors and active military. Thursday night tickets are $10 apiece. Student rush tickets are available at every performance for $5 apiece, availability pending.
