Folies Café llama a nuevos perfiles musicales para su espectáculo de cabaret

Desde su apertura a principios de junio, el restaurante musical Folies Café, situado en la localidad madrileña de Alcalá de Henares, quiere continuar su apuesta por fusionar la gastronomía mediterránea y el recuerdo a la época dorada de los cabarets europeos. Para ello, busca artistas y personal de sala que quieran unirse al elenco del espacio con el objetivo de servir a la mesa del espectador un pedazo de historia de ciudades como París y Berlín en forma de montajes en pequeño y mediano formato inspirados en el Music Hall y el Teatro de Variedades.

Ricky Martin's EVITA Performance Schedule Changes; Max von Essen and Daniel Torres to Step in as Alternates for Monday Shows

Beginning Monday, September 3, 2012, Ricky Martin's performance schedule as Che in the hit production of EVITA will be Tuesdays at 7pm, Wednesdays at 2pm & 8pm, Thursdays at 8pm, Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 2pm & 8pm. Max von Essen and Daniel Torres will alternate in the role of Che at Monday evening performances. The schedule change is part of a slight restructuring of Mr. Martin's appearance agreement with producers and will not change his overall number of performances in EVITA.
Indianapolis City Ballet Launches Master Class Series

Cleveland School of Dance, the official school of the Cleveland Ballet, will hold a fundraiser, Friday, October 26th, to benefit future events and performances. The school, helmed by Artistic Director and former Cleveland San Jose Ballet Principal Dancer, Gladisa Guadalupe, will also begin classes September 4th, at their new location in Bedford Heights, OH.

Signature Theatre (James Houghton, Founding Artistic Director; Erika Mallin, Executive Director) has announced that performances begin tonight for the world premiere of HEARTLESS by Sam Shepard and directed by Daniel Aukin. All tickets for the initial run of the production are $25 as part of the Signature Ticket Initiative: A Generation of Access. The Bushwick Starr and Katy Pyle present Covers, by Katy Pyle with Jules Skloot. In this evening length cabaret of forms, Pyle and Skloot shape-shift through a series of queered archetypes in a continual effort to see and be seen through layers of shame and loneliness. Performing beneath quilts, they cover and transform songs, dance styles, and contemporary performance tropes, inhabiting and discarding roles in an amorphous landscape of shifting identity and perception.
