Bay Area Cabaret, devoted to presenting audiences with top performers who expand the definition of cabaret, enters its 11th season this fall with a sparkling lineup at the Fairmont San Francisco's historic Venetian Room. The new season features a star-studded lineup of performers making their Bay Area Cabaret debuts, as well as the return of a few favorites. The season kicks off on Saturday, September 27, 2014 with a tribute to songwriter Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Godspell, Pocahontas, Enchanted, Prince of Egypt), starring Mr. Schwartz, SNL's Ana Gasteyer, Broadway's Liz Callaway and Michael McCorry Rose. The season continues November 2 with Tony winner Leslie Uggams (Hallelujah, Baby!, Beulah, Roots) and December 7 with Andrew Lloyd Webber protege and star of Broadway's Phantom of the Opera and Little Mermaid Sierra Boggess.

Steve Post, legendary New York radio personality for more than 50 years, died yesterday. He was 70 years old. Steve was the acerbic host of Morning Music, heard on WNYC-FM for 25 years.

Internationally acclaimed actress Michelle Fairley, best known for her role as Catelyn Stark on HBO's “Game of Thrones,” will return -- in more ways than one -- to network television this fall, in a season-long arc on ABC's hit series, “Resurrection.” The second-season premiere of “Resurrection” will air SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 28 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) on the network.

Beginning today, July 16, the New Museum will present 'Here and Elsewhere,' the first museum-wide exhibition in New York City to feature contemporary art from and about the Arab world. The exhibition brings together forty-five artists from over twelve countries, many of whom live and work internationally. In keeping with the New Museum's dedication to showcasing the most engaging new art from around the globe, 'Here and Elsewhere' is the most recent in a series of exhibitions that have introduced urgent questions and new aesthetics to American audiences.

Snowdon has given 130 original prints of some of his most iconic photographs to the National Portrait Gallery, London, one of its largest gifts, it was announced today. Several of them will be shown at the gallery for the first time in an important display this autumn.

Commissioned by the Finborough Theatre from Cerberus Theatre, the UK premiere and the English world premiere of controversial German playwright Rolf Hochhuth's Sommer 14 - A Dance of Death in a brand new translation opens at the Finborough Theatre for a four week limited season on Tuesday, 5 August 2014 (Press Night: Thursday, 7 August at 7.30pm).

Signature Theatre has announced casting is confirmed and tickets are now on sale for the U.S. Premiere of AND I AND SILENCE by Naomi Wallace, directed by Caitlin McLeod. All tickets for the initial run of the production are $25 as part of the Signature Ticket Initiative: A Generation of Access.
