Disney's THE LION KING, presented by Marina Bay Sands and Disney Theatrical Productions, together with BASE Entertainment, opened at The Sands Theatre in Singapore's Marina Bay Sands March 9 and the reviews are now in.

As previously announced by BWW's Spain Editor Juanjo Gonzalez, DISNEY THEATRICAL PRODUCTIONS (Thomas Schumacher, producer and president) in association with STAGE ENTERTAINMENT SPAIN (Julia Gomez Cora, general director), Alberto Ruiz-Gallardon (Mayor of Madrid) and Simon Amselem (Managing Director, The Walt Disney Company Spain and Portugal), have announced the Spanish premiere of Disney's landmark musical event, THE LION KING, to open October 21 at Lope de Vega Theatre on Madrid's Gran Via.

The Schenectady premiere of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Thursday, February 24 at 8:00PM at Proctors for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, March 20, 2011.

Disney Theatrical Productions and Victoria Theatre Association announced today that tickets for the long-awaited production of Disney's THE LION KING will go on sale to the public on Saturday, February 12 at 7 AM. Today the auditions for the first ever Spanish production of The Lion King, one of the most anticipated musicals of all time, have started in Madrid, where it will open in Teatro Lope de Vega, no official date yet. Stage Entertainment expects over 2.000 artists to audition from registering on their website just one week after it opened, and for today more than 700 people, singers and dancers, have gathered in Teatros del Canal del Madrid.
