Chicago Philharmonic to Present SCENTS OF BEAUTY, 4/19

The Chicago Philharmonic presents works by Debussy, Ravel, and De Falla in Scents of Beauty at Northwestern University's Pick-Staiger Hall on April 19, 7pm. The performance will feature world-renowned pianist Jorge Federico Osorio as the orchestra continues its 2014-15 subscription series dedicated to the five senses. Artistic Director Scott Speck conducts.

The CSO Performs BEETHOVEN & DON QUIXOTE This Weekend

Beethoven's most engaging symphony shares a program with Strauss' wise, compelling tone poem tracing the whimsical adventures of an aging, chivalrous Spanish knight, and sensuous, rollicking selections from Falla's ballet The Three-Cornered Hat. Led by guest conductor Andrew Grams, the program will feature the CSO's principal cello Luis Biava and principal viola Karl Pedersen.

Juanjo Mena to Make New York Philharmonic Debut in 2015

Juanjo Mena will make his New York Philharmonic debut conducting an all-Russian program featuring Rimsky-Korsakov's Capriccio espagnole; Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 1, with pianist Daniil Trifonov as soloist; and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6, Pathe?tique, Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, January 2, 2015, at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, January 3 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, January 6 at 7:30 p.m.

The Chicago Sinfonietta Presents Its Annual DIA DE LOS MUERTOS Concert Tonight

The Chicago Sinfoniettacaptures the duality of grief and joy intrinsic to the Mexican holiday Day of the Dead in its annual Dia de los Muertosconcert, where the orchestra is joined by Brazil-born, Chicago area-based guest conductor Lucia Matos, making her Sinfonietta podium debut, and Redmoon theater, bringing the music to life through spectacular visual accompaniments. The Chicago Sinfonietta performs Dia de los Muertos twice: first, in Naperville at Wentz Concert Hall of North Central College, 171 E. Chicago Avenue, tonight, November 15 at 8 pm, and then again in downtown Chicago at Symphony Center, 220 S. Michigan Avenue, Monday, November 17 at 7:30 pm.

October 28, 2014 – Richmond, Virginia Concerts presented by the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra Program (YOP) highlight some of the region's top young musicians. Students from grades 2 to 12 make up four ensembles, ranging from beginner to advanced. These FREE educational concerts are great for music-lovers of all ages.

The Utah Symphony is dressing up for the 24th annual Halloween Hi-Jinks concert and costume contest tonight, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. at Abravanel Hall. Principal Pops Conductor Jerry Steichen, one of America's most versatile conductors, dons the baton to conduct music from 'The Phantom of the Opera,' 'The Witches of Eastwick,' 'Die Walkure,' 'Harry Potter,' and more. This spectral spectacle is sure to entrance all audiences with unique costumes and thrilling music.
