FREEZE FRAME: CONSTELLATIONS' Jake Gyllenhaal & Ruth Wilson Meet the Press!

Rehearsals are currently underway for the American premiere of Constellations, the acclaimed new play by Nick Payne, directed by Michael Longhurst, starring Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler, Brokeback Mountain) and two-time Olivier Award winner Ruth Wilson (BBC's and PBS' Emmy nominated 'Luther,' Showtime's 'The Affair'). This strictly limited 13-week engagement will begin previews Tuesday, December 16, 2014 for a Tuesday, January 13, 2015 opening night at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). Jean Brassard, James Henry Doan & More to Star in Pan Asian Rep's FILM CHINOIS

Pan Asian Repertory Theatre, now in its 38th Season, has announced the cast for the East Coast premiere of FILM CHINOIS, an atmospheric noir mystery set in 1940s China written by Singaporean playwright Damon Chua and directed by Kaipo Schwab. The production will begin previews on January 17, 2015 and run until February 8, 2015 at the Beckett Theatre at Theatre Row (410 W 42nd Street between 9th and Dyer). The official opening is on Thursday, January 22 at 7:30PM.

By The Water, the new play by Sharyn Rothstein, directed by Hal Brooks, officially opens tonight, November 18 as part of The Studio at Stage II - Harold and Mimi Steinberg New Play Series at New York City Center - Stage II (131 West 55th Street). The limited engagement began performances on November 4.

Joe's Pub at The Public announces the official launch of Joe's Pub Artists-in-Residence (JPAIR), a yearlong program devoted to enriching the sustainability and growth of New York-based emerging and established artists' careers. By providing administrative resources, physical space and curatorial services, JPAIR seeks to offer not just practical support but also cultivate a community atmosphere wherein those artists can develop new and ongoing work.

MARIE ANTOINETTE, GRAND CONCOURSE and More Set for Steppenwolf's 2015 Season; Tickets Go on Sale 12/5

Steppenwolf Theatre Company kicks off the New Year with the Chicago premiere production of Marie Antoinette (February 5, 2015 - May 10, 2015), a modern, witty take on the young queen of France by David Adjmi (Elective Affinities, 3C) and directed by Robert O'Hara (Bootycandy). Next is the US premiere of The Herd (April 2, 2015 - June 7, 2015), the deftly comic story of a suburban English family by actor-playwright Rory Kinnear. Ensemble member and Tony Award winner Frank Galati directs in place of previously announced director K. Todd Freeman, who had an artistic scheduling conflict. Ensemble member Lois Smith joins the cast of The Herd, which features fellow ensemble members Francis Guinan and John Mahoney.

The Laguna Playhouse Executive and Artistic Directors, Karen Wood and Ann E. Wareham are thrilled to present the third show of their 2014-2015 season and the perfect confection for the Holiday season, the Orange County Premiere of STRIKING 12, with book music and lyrics by Brendan Milburn, Rachel Sheinkin and Valerie Vigoda and directed by Janet Roston.

R+J Opens 11/20 at Paradise Factory

Tickets are now on sale for R+J, the new play offering a contemporary continuation of William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. The play, written by internationally produced playwright Erin Breznitsky and directed by New York Madness Directing Company Head Roxy MtJoy, runs at The Paradise Factory (64 E 4th St) from November 19-23.

Manhattan Theatre Club just presented its Fall Benefitlast night, honoring longtime MTC collaborator, Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan. The evening featured appearances by some of Broadway's biggest names: Danny Burstein (The Snow Geese), Raul Esparza (The Homecoming), Boyd Gaines (The Columnist), Heather MacRae who appeared in the 1968 production of Hair which Sullivan served as assistant director,Frances McDormand (Good People), Cynthia Nixon (Rabbit Hole), friend and colleague Jack O'Brien, Mary-Louise Parker(Proof), and David Hyde Pierce (Accent on Youth). Rising Phoenix Repertory & Weathervane Productions Commission New Works

Rising Phoenix Repertory and Weathervane Productions have announced that they have commissioned new plays from three female playwrights--Charlotte Miller, Jessica Dickey, and Sarah Shaefer--and that the plays will each be produced over the next two seasons.

Steppenwolf Presents AIRLINE HIGHWAY, 12/13-2/08

Steppenwolf Theatre Company continues its 2014/15 subscription season with the world premiere production of Airline Highway, written by Lisa D'Amour (Detroit, How to Build a Forest) and directed by Joe Mantello (The Last Ship, Casa Valentina, Wicked). Steppenwolf's production will be presented by Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC) at their Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on Broadway in Spring 2015. Airline Highway begins previews December 4, 2014 (Opening night is December 14, 2014; Press performances are December 13 at 3pm and December 16 at 7:30pm) and runs through February 8, 2015 in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St).

Lori Wilner, David Wohl, Annie Purcell, Michael Goldsmith and More Star in AWAKE AND SING!, Beginning Tonight at Huntington Theatre

Obie Award winner Melia Bensussen (Luck of the Irish, Circle Mirror Transformation) returns to the Huntington Theatre Company to direct Awake and Sing!, Clifford Odets' stirring American classic about a working-class Jewish family striving for a better future. Performances at the Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre begin tonight, November 7 and continue through Sunday, December 7, 2014.
