BroadwayWorld has just learned that Andrew Lloyd Webber will provide musical instruments for 20 public middle schools across New York City as part of a new program called 'Rock the Schools.'

Andrew Lloyd Webber and R&H Theatricals announced today that high schools and youth performance groups in the USA and Canada will soon be able to perform SCHOOL OF ROCK - THE MUSICAL.

The box office officially opens today for the World Premiere of School of Rock - The Musical at the Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway). Previews will begin on Monday, November 9, 2015, with an opening set for Sunday, December 6, 2015. Tickets for School of Rock - The Musical are available by visiting the Winter Garden Theatre box office Monday - Saturdays between 10:00 am - 8:00 pm, online at Telecharge.com, or by calling 800-447-7400.

Andrew Lloyd Webber announced today the complete cast for School of Rock - The Musical, which will have its World Premiere on Broadway.  Based on the smash hit 2003 film of the same title, School of Rock will feature music from the movie, as well as an original score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Glenn Slater, with a book by Julian Fellowes and direction by Laurence Connor (currently represented on Broadway by Les Miserables). Previews will begin on Monday, November 9, 2015 at the Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway), with an opening set for Sunday, December 6, 2015.

Warner Bros. Records will release the Original Broadway Cast Recording for School of Rock - The Musical on Friday, December 4, 2015, on the eve of opening night., BroadwayWorld has confirmed.

Today, April 23 2013, The Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation and The Charles Wolfson Trust announce that they will be donating £2 million over four years to establish a new charitable entity The Music In Secondary Schools Trust, which has been specifically created to roll out a ground-breaking music programme, "The Andrew Lloyd Webber Programme", to schools across the country.

Since 2011, the Foundation has donated over £7 million to a wide range of projects with a focus on supporting talented young artists and developing future audiences. The Foundation believes that in order to maintain vibrancy in the arts, it is imperative for young artists of all backgrounds and abilities to be nurtured and encouraged.

According to The Independent, Andrew Lloyd Webber's foundation has donated £150,000 to a traveling theater, the 'Roundabout auditorium', designed by theatre company Paines Plough. It is the first portable theatre-in-the-round and aims to put grassroots theater back on the map.
