Edward Watts (Scandalous on Broadway; Superman in It's a Bird..Plane..It's Superman at Encores!), has signed on to join the cast of The Fantasticks, for two weeks only, right before its 56th anniversary on May 3, producers Al Parinello and Catherine Russell have announced. Mr. Watts will begin performances on Monday, April 28th and continue on in the role until Monday, May 12.
West End star and international recording artist Jeremiah James will be joining the cast of The Fantasticks, the world's longest running musical, on Tuesday, October 29th, just weeks after its milestone celebration of 20,000 performances in New York. Mr. James will assume the role of El Gallo, which was performed by George Dvorsky.

BEND IN THE ROAD, a new musical comedy, is an official selection of the New York Musical Theatre Festival's (NYMF) 2013 Next Link Project. The shows stars, Martin Vidnovic and Alison Woods, recently caught a performance of the world's longest-running musical THE FANTASTICKS at the Snapple Theater Center. Both have strong ties to the show as Martin starred as Bellomy in this current revival and he played El Gallo in the original Sullivan Street Playhouse production in the 1970s. And Alison was selected by director Jason Alexander to play the leading role of Luisa in his all-star production of THE FANTASTICKS at Reprise with Eric McCormack and Lucas Grabeel. THE FANTASTICKS, the world's longest running musical, will celebrate its 54th anniversary today, May 3, just as producers Al Parinello and Catherine Russell announce plans for a major celebration when the musical performs its record breaking 20,000th performance, on September 15, 2013.
Triple platinum recording artist Aaron Carter will be performing his final week as Matt in The Fantasticks. His last performance will be on Sunday Feb. 17, 2013 at 7:30 PM. Carter is leaving the production to do a national tour.
George Dvorsky, who most recently starred in the critically acclaimed revival of CLOSER THAN EVER at the York Theater has joined the cast of The Fantasticks in the role of the narrator El Gallo, as of yesterday, January 21. He replaces actor Richard Roland.
Triple-platinum recording artist Aaron Carter, scheduled to complete his run as Matt in The Fantasticks on October 21, 2012, will remain with the production through January 27, 2013. A new block of tickets is now on sale at Ticketmaster.com.
