The final evening of performances for the Mabel Mercer Foundation's 29th New York Cabaret Convention, held at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Rose Theater, was a showcase for many cabaret legends, bringing back glamour, sparkle, and class to the proceedings.

The third night of performances at the Mabel Mercer Foundation's 29th Cabaret Convention was a feast for the eyes and ears. Hosted by the dynamic Klea Blackhurst, the full house of the Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center gathered to witness the showcase of many powerhouse performances by cabaret greats, saluting the music of the incomparable Jerry Herman.

If necessity is the mother of invention, that scrappy lineage certainly continued with Rosemary Clooney, Barbara Cook, and Julie Wilson.

The Mabel Mercer Foundation put itself in a tricky spot to start this year's New York Cabaret Convention: how do you define what cabaret today looks like?

Broadway award-winning star and concert star Christine Andreas will release her newest album Christine Andreas Piaf-No Regrets on PS Classics   on November 9th , 2018.  Christine is currently touring the U.S. and abroad with her much-acclaimed one-woman show Piaf, No Regrets.  This new CD was recorded in London this past summer with a 36- piece orchestra, conducted and orchestrated by Larry Blank and produced by Martin Silvestri. Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) in celebration of its 50thseason, will present The Algonquin Kid, a musical revue about growing up in the Algonquin Hotel, written by Michael Colby.

For three decades, the unofficial launch of 'autumn in New York' has been marked by the annual Cabaret Convention of The Mabel Mercer Foundation. This year, their four individual concerts will once again be presented at 6 p.m. at the Rose Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center, beginning Today, October 9thand running through Friday, October 12th. More than seventy diverse vocalists -- ranging in age from seventeen to ninety -- are scheduled to entertain; thirteen of these will make their New York Cabaret Convention debuts during the 2018 performances.

THE GREEN ROOM 42 will present VIVIAN REED in an encore performance of her centennial tribute to entertainment icon Lena Horne on Saturday, October 20 at 7:00 PM. The evening is back by popular demand after the first show at the venue on Horne's birthday this summer. 

THE GREEN ROOM 42 will present KT Sullivan and Mark Nadler reuniting to celebrate the Alan Jay Lerner centenary with their new show 'Almost Like Being In Love' on Sunday, October 14 at 9:30 PM. The effervescent duo, described by Stephen Holden in the New York Times as 'ferociously entertaining,' will include songs like 'If Ever I Would Leave You,' 'Gigi' and 'I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face' in addition to other Lerner masterpieces.

Don't Tell Mama and Dr. Bradley Jones will present a special performance of the hilarious and moving coming-of-age story, Dr. Bradley's Fabulous Functional Narcissism, to benefit the American Songbook Association (ASA) on October 31, 2018* at 7pm at the legendary theater district cabaret, where Dr. Bradley has been packing in SRO audiences for months. The ASA is committed to sustaining and forwarding this living legacy of American song and its many genres, which is loved and performed in every corner of the earth.

This year, a living legend of musical theatre turns 90: Lyricist-bookwriter Tom Jones (who also, under a stage name) appeared in the original company of his most famous and wildly successful record-breaking musical, The Fantasticks. His collaborator, composer Harvey Schmidt, just recently passed away. The production's record-breaking run closed, on January 13, 2002, after 17,162 performances. Their shows also include 110 in the Shade, I Do! I Do!, Philemon, Celebration and many more. And celebration is what it's about when Broadway veterans Carole Demas, who originated the role of Sandy in Grease, and Sarah Rice, who originated the role of Johanna in Sweeney Todd, return to celebrate Jones & Schmidt. Demas and Rice have based the show on their 50 years of work and personal relationships with Tom and Harvey. With very special guest Broadway's Hal Robinson who is also a Fantasticks alumni.

Dr. Bradley Jones returns to Don't Tell Mama on July 26th with an encore performance of Dr. Bradley's Fabulous Functional Narcissism: The Solo Show. The hilarious and moving coming-of-age story chronicles Jones' childhood as a budding theater queen, ten years on Broadway in A Chorus Line, right through the present and his successful, post -Broadway career as a psychoanalyst in New York City.
