Works by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and Dominique Morisseau to Take the Stage at 2015 Mimi Awards

Theatre luminaries will gather on Monday, November 16, 2015, to honor Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and Dominique Morisseau at the 2015 Steinberg Playwright Awards, presented by The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust. Scenes highlighting their previous and new work will be presented at the 8th Annual 'Mimi' Awards, which will take place at Lincoln Center Theater's Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. 

Taylor Mac's HIR Extends Again at Playwrights Horizons

Due to critical acclaim and popular demand, Playwrights Horizons has announced a second extension of their New York premiere production of HIR, a new play by Obie Award-winning theater artist Taylor Mac (A 24-Decade History of Popular Music, The Lily's Revenge, The Walk Across America for Mother Earth, The Be(a)st of Taylor Mac, The Young Ladies Of).

Nick Jones' IMPORTANT HATS OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY Begins Previews Tomorrow at MTC

A friendly reminder! Previews begin tomorrow, November 10, for Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of IMPORTANT HATS OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, the new comedy by Emmy Award nominee Nick Jones, directed by Tony Award nominee Moritz von Stuelpnagel. Piper Perabo Leads John Pollono's LOST GIRLS, Opening Tonight at MCC Theater

MCC Theater presents the New York premiere of John Pollono's LOST GIRLS. The production is directed by Jo Bonney who last collaborated with playwright John Pollono on MCC's critically acclaimed production of Small Engine Repair. LOST GIRLS opens tonight, November 9. It is scheduled through November 29, 2015.

Oregon Shakespeare Festival Closes 80th Anniversary Year

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival wrapped up its 80th year Sunday night, November 1, with the final performances of Much Ado about Nothing and Pericles. Preparations for the 2016 season are well under way; 2016 member ticket sales start this week and preview performances begin February 19. The 2016 opening weekend is February 26-28.

Paul Lucas' TRANS SCRIPTS Sells Out at American Repertory Theater

Gardiner (Born Bad). This world premiere will be presented in spring 2016 as part of MTC's The Studio at Stage II - Harold and Mimi Steinberg New Play Series at New York City Center - Stage II (131 West 55th Street).

Academic Theatre at CCBC Catonsville to Present Lynn Nottage's INTIMATE APPAREL

The Theater department at the Community College of Baltimore County explores a variety of challenging themes in its student academic theatre productions. This semester, while CCBC Essex students put on their innovative interpretation of 'The Elephant Man,' students at CCBC Catonsville examine Lynn Nottage's 'Intimate Apparel.' Nottage's play weaves an age-old Cinderella-like story into a rich and complex theatrical tapestry.
