Stage Door Players to Present KISS ME, KATE

Wrapping up the wildly successful 42nd Season of Dunwoody's very own professional theatre, STAGE DOOR PLAYERS produces the musical comedy, "show within a show", Kiss Me, Kate, music and lyrics by Cole Porter, book by Sam and Bella Spewack. Alan Kilpatrick directs, Nick Silvestri is the music director, and Jen MacQueen choreographs. The show opens on Friday, July 15, and runs through Sunday, August 7. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 8pm (except, no performance on Thursday, July 21), and Sundays at 2:30pm. Celebrate the power of womanhood, as five Mexican-American women venture down the road of self-discovery in a coming-of-age drama that will shower audiences of all ages with inspiration and courage! As part of Aurora Theatre's annual Teatro del Sol, a Spanish language theatre initiative with a goal of the preservation of Hispanic cultural heritage, Real Women Have Curves plays tonight, April 10-26, 2015. Based on playwright Josefina Lopez's own young adult experiences, this widely recognized portrayal of immigration and its impact on women and their families has sparked a greater conversation and call to action for young immigrants struggling to defy the odds and achieve the American dream.

Mother Goose is missing! Classic characters from everyone's favorite nursery rhymes must band together to solve the crime in the Center for Puppetry Arts' inventive production of Shake a Tale Feather with Mother Goose, August 21- September 21. Humpty Dumpty, Little Bo Peep, Jack & Jill and all the other citizens of Rhymeville need help to look for clues and piece together the mystery of Mother Goose's whereabouts. Filled with music and high levels of guest interaction, this show will have audience members tapping their toes, clapping their hands and singing with their little ones!

Aurora Theatre continues the 2013-2014 Harvel Lab Series with a Teatro del Sol production, Mariela in the Desert by Karen Zacarias. It is 1950 and artists Mariela and Jose are living an isolated existence in the desert of Northern Mexico, haunted by the ghost of their young son. Jose is very ill and Mariela sends a telegram to their daughter encouraging her to come home. Where once the walls were beautifully decorated, now only one painting remains, and it is shrouded in mystery. This play will be performed in Spanish with English supertitles. This production features an amazing cast including the stunning Blanca Aguero in the title role of Mariela and Aurora Theatre Producing Artistic Director Anthony P.
