The Bavarian State Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, to Premiere and Livestream Three Act Opera, PETER GRIMES

This Sunday, 6 March 2022, 7 pm, the Bayerische Staatsoper will celebrate the premiere of Benjamin Britten's Peter Grimes in a production by Stefan Herheim. With Edward Gardner conducting the Bayerische Staatsorchester, the performers on stage at the Nationaltheater include Stuart Skelton as Peter Grimes and Rachel Willis-Sørensen in a role debut as Ellen Orford.

Segerstrom Chamber Presents Esme Quartet at Samueli Theater

Segerstrom Center for the Arts presents the Esme Quartet on March 18 at the Samueli Theater. The Esme Quartet features Wonhee Bae, violin, Yuna Ha, violin, Jiwon Kim, viola, and Ye-Eun Heo, cello. They will be joined for their Center debut by composer Soo Yeon Lyuh playing the haegeum. The program includes Lyuh's Yessori: A Fantasia for Haegeum; Debussy String Quartet; and Beethoven: String Quartet, Op. 59, No. 2.

Two New York Premieres By Composer Anna Clyne to Be Presented In March 2022

On Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 7:30pm, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center presents the Calidore String Quartet in the New York premiere of GRAMMY Award-nominated composer Anna Clyne's Breathing Statues, a CMS co-commission, at the Rose Studio. The concert, part of the new-music series New Milestones, also includes Sofia Gubaidulina's Quartet No. 4 for Strings with Tape, Joan Tower's White Water, and Jörg Widmann's Jagdquartett.

Pianist Yefim Bronfman Performance at Carnegie Hall Rescheduled to April

Carnegie Hall announced today that the recital by pianist Yefim Bronfman originally planned for Friday, February 18 has been rescheduled for Monday, April 18 at 8:00PM due to changes in Mr. Bronfman's touring schedule. The concert program for the February 18 performance—including piano sonatas by Beethoven, Chopin, and Ustvolskaya—will remain as originally announced.
