The Old Globe will present a one-night-only event, Barry Edelstein In Conversation with Nathan Englander, tonight, Feb. 18, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. This special discussion will reunite Old Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein and award-winning playwright and novelist Nathan Englander, whose play The Twenty-seventh Man, about a group of writers imprisoned in Soviet Russia under mysterious circumstances, makes its West Coast premiere at The Old Globe in February, directed once again by Edelstein. The event will explore the evolution of the play; its fascinating historical setting; Englander's work in fiction versus theatre; and literature's place in modern American culture.

A rare revival of Rocket to the Moon, the 1938 play by Clifford Odets (Awake and Sing, Golden Boy) is currently in performances at Theatre at St. Clement's. Directed by Obie and Lucille Lortel Award winner Dan Wackerman (Counsellor-at-Law), Rocket to the Moon will have its opening night on Monday, February 23rd. As BroadwayWorld reported last night, Disney's FROZEN is aiming to hit the stage by 2017. According to a report by the Daily Mail, the movie musical's Oscar-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez met with the film's writer and co-director Jennifer Lee, head of Disney Theatricals Thomas Schumacher, and Broadway and West End director Alex Timbers to discuss their options. Lee is writing the book with guidance from the Lopezes, who have also written 'a couple' of new songs for the show.

Yolo! Productions and The Great Griffon will present a rare revival of Animals Out of Paper, by Rajiv Joseph (2010 Pulitzer Prize Finalist - Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo), directed by Merri Milwe, at McAlphin Hall at West Park Presbyterian Church. Starring David Beck, Nairoby Otero, and Maneesh Sasikumar, this limited Off-Broadway engagement opens tonight, February 12. Performances continue through February 28th, 2015 only.

Lincoln Center Theater has announced that Patti LuPone, Dale Soules, and Michael Urie will be featured in the cast of its upcoming production of SHOWS FOR DAYS, a new play by Douglas Carter Beane, to be directed by Jerry Zaks. The production will begin performances Saturday evening, June 6 and open on Monday, June 29 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street).

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) will present a reunion concert of Kirsten Childs' THE BUBBLY BLACK GIRL SHEDS HER CHAMELEON SKIN on March 30, 2015 at 7pm at 54 Below. The concert will be directed by original cast member Jerry Dixon (If/Then) with original music director Fred Carl (Miracle Brothers) leading members of the original band.
