Howard Hawks, the quintessential Hollywood director known for his mastery of many genres, will be the subject of a complete retrospective at Museum of the Moving Image from September 7 through November 10, 2013. The Museum will present 39 features. All of the films will be shown in 35mm-many in stunning restorations-except for Red Line 7000, which will be shown in 16mm.

Pete Seeger, a master of vocals, banjo, and guitar and well known for influencing the development of folk music and for his continued commitment to social justice, peace and environmental issues, is the recipient of the first Phoebe Jacobs Award of Distinction which will be presented by Beth Israel Medical Center's Louis Armstrong Center for Music & Medicine at its 8th Annual What A Wonderful World event on Monday, September 23rd.

The Louis Armstrong House Museum proudly welcomes back the York College Summer Jazz Program and their big band sound to Louis's garden today, August 4th at 2pm. This annual concert showcases outstanding high school musicians from all five boroughs. It's a free concert celebrating Louis Armstrong's birthday. And, there will be cake!

Diana Ross will appear at the Hollywood Bowl this summer for a special one-night-only performance tonight, August 3. Subscriptions are now available for purchase. Single tickets will be available for purchase in early May 2013.

Louis Armstrong House Museum welcomes Peter & Will Anderson Sextet, one of NYC's hottest jazz bands, to Louis's house on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 2pm. This is the final concert in the museum's Hot Jazz / Cool Garden Summer Concert Series and it's a must-have ticket this summer. To top off the irresistible sounds of this sextet, the concert includes a complimentary sample of red beans n' rice (Louis's favorite recipe) & sweet tea all served up in Louis's garden. FORT WORTH, Texas, Aug. 1, 2013 - American Airlines today launches new service with 76-seat Embraer E-175 large regional aircraft, marking an important step in the airline's plan to diversify its regional fleet. Announced earlier this year as part of a 12-year capacity purchase agreement with Republic Airways Holdings, the aircraft will allow American to better match customer demand in markets where, until today, it could only offer larger mainline aircraft or smaller regional jets.
